Project coordinator 2
Bangalore, Karnataka, IN
Team: Rare Disease, Product & Portfolio Strategy (RareD P&PS GBS)
Organization: Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS) India Bangalore
Shape how strategic projects come to life across a global function – and see your coordination skills drive real impact for patients with rare diseases.
Your new role
As a Project Coordinator in the Rare Disease (RareD) department of P&PS GBS, you will be re-sponsible for the timely planning and execution of Commercial Excellence, Strategic Planning, Rare Blood Disorders (RBD) Commercial and Corporate Affairs projects initiated by the RareD team in Zurich. You will operate at the intersection of strategy, operations and stakeholder management – turning complex initiatives into clear plans and measurable outcomes.
Day-to-day, your tasks will be to:
- Coordinate project activities, develop and maintain project plans, track timelines and key metrics, and provide regular status reporting to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Manage project budgets, maintain financial trackers, support forecasting and cost control activities, and coordinate budget planning cycles by consolidating inputs and monitoring variances.
- Process invoices, support contract and procurement administration, obtain approvals, track payment status, and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Support vendor engagement, sourcing activities, vendor onboarding and financial reconciliations, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and governance requirements.
- Provide administrative support through meeting coordination, documentation management, report preparation, communication facilitation, and maintenance of project records.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support digital transformation initiatives across the function.
- Act as a key support partner by providing vacation cover and handling ad hoc administrative tasks for a counterpart based in Zurich.
Your new department
In Product & Portfolio Strategy GBS we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.
You will join a team where your ability to coordinate across cultures, functions and geographies directly contributes to the delivery of projects with cross-functional impact – working closely with colleagues in Zurich and across the broader organisation.
Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for a Project Coordinator who thrives in a dynamic environment where no two days look the same, and who brings a collaborative yet results-driven approach. You'll bring with you:
- A Master's or Management degree (or equivalent)
- 3-5 years of experience in project coordination, project management, business operations or a related function within a global organisation.
- Fluency in written and spoken English (a must)
- Strong stakeholder relationship management skills with the ability to convince others with mutual or sometimes divergent interests to accept new concepts, practices and approaches
- Core project management capabilities, including the ability to manage medium-complexity assignments that often lack precedence
- A diplomatic and collaborative communication style, combined with the ability to work across cultures, practices and procedures in different countries or regions
- Personal leadership and an outcomes-driven mindset, with the confidence to handle constant changes, ad hoc developments and unexpected problems effectively and promptly
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
