In Finance, Legal & Global Solutions, we enable Novo Nordisk to fulfil our purpose by safeguarding the business, providing corporate infrastructure, and driving value cre-ation. We are a team of 2,300 colleagues primarily based at our headquarters in Denmark and our Global Business Services centres in India and Mexico. 

Within Finance, Legal & Global Solutions sits Corporate Intellectual Property (CIP-GBS), where our team protects the intellectual property that underpins Novo Nordisk's groundbreaking therapies. Working closely with patent attorneys across our global organization, we ensure that the innovations driving change for patients are legally protected in markets around the world. Your role will be pivotal in main-taining the integrity of our patent portfolio while building the capabilities of our coor-dinator team.

 

The Position 

As a Patent Coordinator at CIP-GBS, you'll provide expert patent support services to our global patent organisation, independently handling formal matters across world-wide patent prosecution. You'll also play a key role in developing our team, collabo-rating with team and driving process improvements that strengthen our global ways of working.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Provide end‑to‑end patent support services to the global patent organization
  • Independently handling formal matters related to worldwide patent prosecu-tion, ensuring Novo Nordisk patents remain in force globally and are safe-guarded against third-party challenges
  • Managing incoming and outgoing case-related correspondence, ensuring doc-uments are archived correctly and never misplaced or lost
  • Independently handling all formal matters related to Indian patent filing, prosecution, and communications with the Indian Patent Office, while staying current on changes in IPO Rules and Acts and proposing proactive measures
  • Partnering closely with patent attorneys to secure patent protection for our products, support patent surveillance, and respond to third-party challenges
  • Supervising and training Patent Coordinators and Associate Patent Coordina-tors, while owning your own formality due dates
  • Collaborating with Patent Coordinators globally to troubleshoot, share best practices, and improve processes and operational efficiency
  • Drive process improvements, operational efficiencies, and global best‑practice sharing across DK, US, and IN teams
  • Implementing initiatives to transition new Patent Coordinator tasks and pro-cesses to CIP-GBS in close cooperation with the Manager, demonstrating po-tential for owning processes globally

 


Qualifications

We're seeking a Patent Coordinator who thrives on precision, process excellence, and developing others. To be successful in this role, you'll need:

 

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline with an excellent academic record
  • At least 3+ years of experience as a Patent Coordinator, preferably in a mul-tinational company or law firm, with demonstrated zero-error performance
  • Hands-on experience with ANAQUA or a comparable patent management sys-tem, including end-to-end case handling and data maintenance
  • Solid knowledge of patent formal matters related to the European Patent Of-fice (EPO), Indian Patent Office (IPO), PCT and USPTO procedures
  • Proven experience supervising and training junior colleagues, with the ability to assess skill levels and provide constructive feedback
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to accurately extract and enter relevant information from diverse patent and non-patent sources
  • Excellent written and spoken English, enabling you to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders
  • Strong process-based thinking and problem-solving skills, with the curiosity to question processes and propose innovative solutions
  • Experience coordinating with patent professionals on a global scale, with ro-bust quality-checking capabilities
