The position

As a Lead API (Application Programming Interface) Developer you will be responsible for creating and maintaining APIs that integrate with various Azure Data Products, such as Azure Purview, Azure Data Lake Storage, Cosmos DB. You will design and develop RESTful APIs using best practices and industry standards and use Azure Data Products APIs and SDKs (software development kit) to interact with different data sources and services. You will also implement data transformations and validations within the APIs, document them clearly and concisely, and test and debug them thoroughly before deployment. You will play a key role in enabling smooth data flow and automation within our Semantic Layer ecosystem, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design and develop RESTful APIs for Azure data services.
  • Integrate APIs with Azure data services. Implement security measures such as authentication and encryption.
  • Optimize API performance for scalability and reliability.
  • Monitor API usage and performance and create comprehensive API documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information technology discipline; an advanced degree and related accreditations are a plus.
  • Overall 8+ years of IT experience. 3+ years of experience as an API Developer. Experience working with Azure Data Products.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles.
  • Proficiency in Python is necessary. Other language experience for API development (e.g., Java, C#) is good to have. Experience with testing and debugging APIs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
