Team: Global Medical Affairs, Product & Portfolio Strategy

Location: Bangalore, Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS), India

Shape how the world sees our science. Lead bold, high-impact publication strategies that trans-late breakthrough clinical data into scientific communication reaching patients, HCPs and decision-makers around the globe.

Your new role
As Global Publications Lead, you will drive publication planning and execution across an asset and portfolio outlook – ensuring balanced, strategic and compliant scientific communication that shapes clinical practice. You will represent Novo Nordisk in interactions with external partners such as medical writers, publishers and professional associations (Open Pharma, ISMPP), bringing best practice back into the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Publication planning & execution: Lead publication tiering, manage impactful execution and budget prioritisation across manuscripts, abstracts, encores, late-breakers, posters and review articles – including full congress experience and, at times, the congress lead role.
  • Governance & alignment: Independently structure, drive and optimise governance bodies (StC/PPG, medical teams), preparing agendas, pre-reads, minutes and follow-up, and pre-empting alignment needs with senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Strategic communication: Lead fit-for-purpose communication strategies integrated with TA strategy, evidence needs, Medical and PDP – developing and executing a bold 3-year global publication plan with clear focus on value and impact.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain trusted relationships with top KOLs, HCPs, publishers and journal editorial offices, driving decisions through assertive, diplomatic and timely communication.
  • Governance & Centre of Excellence: Drive publication governance and the Centre of Excellence, deliver internal training on Good Publication Practice, ISMPP standards and NN SOPs, and champion ethical, transparent reporting of clinical trial data.
  • Vendor & budget management: Direct vendors, run RFP processes, and independently own asset-specific publication budgets, including PA approvals, monthly tracking, invoicing and RE/LE/AB input.
  • Systems & innovation: Apply advanced proficiency in iEnvision, BEAM, PROPOSE and pubs hub – leveraging analytics and digital extenders to sharpen strategic decision-making.
  • The role is global in scope and includes approximately 10–15% worldwide travel per year to congresses, affiliates and publication professional meetings.

Your new department
In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.
You will join the Global Publications team based in Copenhagen, working closely with the Director and with Publication Managers across affiliate offices. Together, we set the standard for scientific communication at Novo Nordisk – pioneering integrated evidence strategies, integrating patient perspectives and leveraging digital platforms to ensure our science reaches the audiences that can act on it.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for an experienced publications professional who combines scientific curiosity with strong project leadership and a genuine ability to engage senior stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A relevant master's degree as a minimum; a PhD/post-doc or combination of master's degrees is an asset. Certification as a Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) and/or project management certification (PRINCE2 or similar) are considered assets.
  • 5+ years' experience in scientific communications (from agency, publisher, pharma or academia) combined with 5+ years' project management experience; exposure to the wider pharmaceutical value chain is an asset.
  • Expert project management capability, with a proven ability to prioritise, risk-assess and deliver multiple complex publication projects simultaneously to high scientific and ethical standards.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement, communication and diplomacy skills, with the confidence to influence senior internal stakeholders, top KOLs and HCPs, and to represent No-vo Nordisk externally with publishers, journals and industry associations.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Good Publication Practice, ISMPP guidelines and industry systems (iEnvision, BEAM, PROPOSE, pubs hub), with fluency in written and spoken English.
