About the department

 

Global Medical Affairs, GBS (GMA GBS) is an extension of the Global Medical Affairs unit in Headquarters (HQ) in Denmark and Zurich, based out of Global Business Services (GBS), Bangalore, India. The team consists of highly motivated medical advisors, project managers and publication manager working together with HQ, regions and affiliates across the world. One of the sub-units within GMA GBS is the Rare Disease Medical Affairs department. Our core competencies are communicating scientific and medical knowledge on our products to the external scientific community and across the organization; delivering external medical events including in-house content development and project management; and Publication planning within the Rare Diseases therapy area.

 

The Position

 

The role is global in scope, and the Global Publication Manager is responsible for support and independently undertaking various tasks and deliverables in relation to global publication management at IO-SO (International operations -Strategic operations) level. Drives publication planning and execution for Scientific & Medical Affairs department: IO-SO. Manage and support publication activities, communication and reporting cross portfolio. Manage and track author/abstract speaker engagements. To perform medical content development tasks for all scientific activities including trial and non-trial information in Global Medical Affairs unit.

  • Develop publication strategies for IO-SO driven studies. Understands basic elements of publication plan.
  • Support affiliate publication proposal and execution following PPG endorsement.
  • Support and execute publication plan activities using Datavision.
  • Reporting across the portfolio, e.g. Datavision reports.
  • Drive scientific discussions related to study results, publication plan/strategy, planning data analysis. Ensure timely publication.

Qualifications

 

  • Should Possess postgraduation (M. Pharm /M.Sc. /PharmD or equivalent) or PhD.
  • 3-4 years of relevant (publication management) experience.
  • Well verse with the publication guidelines.
  • Hands-on-experience on Datavision will be an advantage.
  • Experienced in conducting/moderating author kick-off calls, driving study results meeting.
  • Basic understanding of biostatistics.
  • Good understanding of therapy areas (Diabetes/Obesity/MASH/CVD).
  • Profound knowledge and experience in handling author queries, scientific congress sessions, communication to journal editors/congress groups.
  • Experienced the lifecycle of managing different publication vehicles (abstracts/posters/manuscripts).
