Team: RareD Medical Affairs, Product & Portfolio Strategy

Location: Bangalore, Novo Nordisk Global Business Services (GBS), India

Shape how science reaches the world. Lead medical communication programmes that turn complex evidence into experiences clinicians remember – and act on.

Your new role
As Global Project Lead for Medical Communications, you will plan, drive and optimise medical communication programmes – with a particular focus on events – combining strategic stakeholder management, operational rigour and a strong eye for digital innovation. You will be the person who keeps complex, multi-partner programmes moving forward with clarity and quality.

Day-to-day your tasks will include:

  • Leading end-to-end planning and execution of Medical Education and Medical Communications events (virtual, hybrid and in-person), ensuring delivery against objectives and timelines
  • Acting as the key point of contact across internal teams (Scientific, Medical, Content, Design, Legal, Regulatory, IT) and external partners (agencies, speakers, vendors), aligning expectations and decisions
  • Owning document and deliverable readiness – timelines, contracting via platforms, content accuracy, formatting and coordination of compliance checks – with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
  • Supporting vendor selection and managing scope, deliverables, service levels and contract timelines in close collaboration with procurement and legal
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to digital channels – templates, automation, audience engagement tools and reporting dashboards – to increase efficiency and impact
  • Building and maintaining risk and issue trackers, contingency plans and escalation paths, recommending mitigation actions early throughout the project lifecycle
  • Continuously improving ways of working through lessons learned, process enhancements and adoption of best practices

Your new department
In Product & Portfolio Strategy we drive commercial strategy, medical affairs and business development across all therapy areas. We act as a connector and compass, guiding the new Novo Nordisk portfolio for sustained competitiveness upstream, and maximising portfolio potential through successful commercial strategies and competitive launches downstream.
Within this area, our Medical Communications team designs and delivers the global programmes that bring our science to healthcare professionals around the world. We work at the intersection of medical, scientific and digital expertise – and you will play a central role in raising the bar on how we plan, execute and learn from every programme we run.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a structured, proactive project leader who thrives on bringing order to complexity and energy to cross-functional teams. To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • An M.Sc. or MBA with 7-8 years of project management experience from the pharmaceutical industry, including coordination of complex, cross-functional projects or events in a regulated medical or scientific environment
  • Strong project planning and prioritisation skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in parallel without losing momentum or quality
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and align a broad set of internal and external stakeholders
  • Confidence in partnering on contracts and vendor management, including scope, deliverables, service levels and timelines
  • Proficiency with digital tools and process improvement, ideally with basic analytics and reporting capabilities
  • A collaborative mindset combined with sharp execution, strong ownership, structured problem-solving and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement
