About the department
In Global Medical Affairs-GBS, Bangalore (GMA-GBS) we are a group of medical doctors, PhDs, project management professionals, medical writers, publication managers and graphic designers. GMA GBS core competencies are Communicating scientific and medical knowledge on the product to external scientific community and within the organization, delivering external medical events including in-house content development and project management and Publication planning.

 

The current Global Medical Advisor position would functionally be a part of the Global Medical Affairs, Cardiovascular and Other Serious Chronic Disease team including Alzheimer’s disease located in Copenhagen, Denmark. At present we have recently initiated phase 3 trials investigating semaglutide for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

 

The position
We are looking for a medical doctor with interest in Alzheimer’s disease. As a Global Medical Advisor for Alzheimer’s disease, you will be part of a small team of highly motivated and talented medical doctors with clinical, research and/or pharmaceutical experience, who are passionate about drug development, medical and scientific education and communication. We offer the opportunity for you to use your medical experience, your analytical skills and your creativity towards new innovative treatments that will make a difference for people suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease.

 

As a Global Medical Advisor, you will be involved in transforming clinical trial data into scientific and commercial communication to support Novo Nordisk (NN) products. You will be responsible for maintaining overview of internal and external clinical activities for specific product/project, provide market-oriented medical input to trial design, protocol development, and investigator selection in NN clinical trials, contribute to trial design protocol development and investigator selection according to market oriented medical input from Phase IIIa and IIIb and IV.

 

Furthermore, you will be responsible for KOL Engagement and execute global Health Care Professionals strategy, execute global meetings and support speakers in preparation for presentation of NN data at conferences and symposia. You will also drive publication planning and support execution of publication plan in collaboration with the Global Publication Team.

 

You will also advise and drive development of internal and external medical guidance and educational materials. You will be expected to present data both internally and externally and to participate in international conferences and scientific meetings. In addition to this, you will provide medical guidance to various teams that are actively involved in developing Novo Nordisk's global marketing and market access strategies, and other legal and medical aspects.

 

Qualifications
We are expecting you to hold the below skills and knowledge:

  • MBBS with PhD Or MD (preferable) 
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical advisor or related pharmaceutical industry experience is preferable
  • If you have previous pharmaceutical industry experience and/or experience in clinical medicine or research within Alzheimer’s disease it would be an advantage.
  • Experience with clinical medicine, clinical research and drug development
  • Understanding of pharma business, pharma marketing practices and pharma law and guidance
  • Authored personal publications, held international medical presentations and written synopsis and protocols (preferable)
  • Strong professionalism, dedication and willingness to travel is essential
  • Strong clinical and/or research background in area of diabetes mellitus with interest in advanced scientific analysis and communication and experience in drug development
