About the department

Global Medical Affairs, GBS (GMA GBS) is an extension of the Global Medical Affairs team in Headquarters (HQ) in Denmark, is based out of Global Business Services (GBS), Bangalore, India. The team consists of highly motivated global medical advisor, global scientific advisors, medical writer, project managers, graphic designers and publication manager working together with medical affairs organizations across the globe -  International Operations – strategic office (IO-SO), Zurich, Switzerland, regional medical affairs units namely Asia Pacific (APAC) based at Dubai, North West Europe (NWE) based at Copenhagen, Denmark and Novo Nordisk Inc (NNI) based at Princeton, USA.

 

Our core competencies are communicating scientific and medical knowledge on our products to the external scientific community and across the organization; delivering external medical events including in-house content development and project management and publication planning.

 

The position

As a Senior Manager (Regions and Operations, GMA) reporting to the Vice President of Global Medical Affairs GBS, you are in charge for the overall performance of the team working for NN regional medical affairs teams including timely planning and proper execution of projects and deliverables. You will be responsible for the performance and development of approximately 22 dedicated employees including three people managers. Your role will be required to set the direction to the team, setting the strategies and ensure high professional structure and standards within the team. 

 

Subsequently, you will be responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate and credible scientific medical guidance across medical affairs for the internal and external stakeholders. Above all, your experience working with global and regional stakeholders and cross functional teams will help you to collaborate successfully in this role.

 

Qualifications

We expect you to be a Medical Doctor and has the below qualifications:

  • Has minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience in Medical Affairs. Affiliate (back office and/or field) experience preferred
  • People management experience of at least 4 years with people management of first line managers of at least 2 years
  • Additional education and experience in pharma business/marketing
  • Willingness to coach colleagues and support team development
  • Teamwork skills, ability to get results through others and to work in a highly motivated team
  • Extrovert, engaged, dynamic, results-driven
  • Ability and willingness to quickly adjust to new situations in a continuously developing environment
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with people with different backgrounds (science, business, etc.)
  • Excellent networking abilities
  • Experience and willingness to work in an international matrix organization
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strategic mindset
  • Passionate about influencing industry from a medical point of view
  • Ability to manage complex tasks and organizational issues
  • Ability to engage and collaborate with people of different cultural background
