The position
As a Cyber Security Specialist at Novo Nordisk, you will:
- Oversee IT security incidents throughout the enterprise network, assess data, respond to incidents, and help address vulnerabilities across all systems.
- Address security incident reports from users, regional teams, and various business lines.
- Detect and handle suspicious or malicious emails.
- Work closely with the Vulnerability Management Office (VMO) to support Critical Vulnerability Response (CVR) activities.
- Use SIEM and other tools for deep packet inspection, malware analysis, and advanced threat detection.
- Serve as a key participant in the Security Incident Response Team, performing forensic investigations and managing incident containment.
- Collaborate with stakeholders organization-wide to resolve security issues promptly.
- Maintain and monitor the technology stack used in incident response, ensuring vital services remain functional.
- Engage in incident response drills and follow the Major IT Security Incident Response Process (MSIRP).
- Guide and instruct Level 1 analysts, while supporting improvements in Security Operations processes.
- Carry out threat hunting activities to proactively spot network risks.
- Recommend enhancements to incident response procedures.
Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for a Cyber Security Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for staying ahead of emerging threats. You'll bring with you:
- 6-8 years of core experience within IT security, with at least 6 years focused on incident response and security operations
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts (routing, switching, VLANs, OSI Model), TCP/IP protocols, and network security methodologies (IPS, IDS, firewalls)
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (Splunk or similar technology) and security event correlation, as well as anti-virus, network security solutions, and enterprise network environments
- Deep understanding of common cyber threats, attack stages (reconnaissance, exploitation, lateral movement), and incident response frameworks (e.g., Lockheed Martin Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK)
- Experience in malware analysis, forensics, and threat intelligence, with knowledge of PowerShell and how threat actors leverage it for system compromise
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with relevant IT and business experience
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and oral); proficiency in Spanish is a plus
- Security certifications such as CEH, SANS or equivalent are highly valued
- Experience in AWS/Azure/cloud environments with good experience in Microsoft defender Product Suit.
- Self-driven with strong personal integrity, flexibility, and superior team player mentality, capable of making independent decisions during critical security incidents

Global Security Operations (GSO) is the technical backbone of Novo Nordisk’s Information Security function. Based in Bangalore our team operates globally across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions. We design, operate, and maintain essential security infrastructures, including intrusion prevention and detection systems for both on-premises and cloud environments.
