Your impact begins here

As an Associate Senior Clinical Programmer in the Data Standards and Integration in Bangalore, you will turn clinical trial data into reports, dashboards and visualisations that people can act on. You will also build automations and AI-driven tools that replace manual tasks. Your work helps clinical teams spot issues early and keep reported data accurate, consistent and complete, supporting the trials that bring new treatments closer to people living with serious chronic diseases.

What you’ll bring

You know clinical data, you can program, and you can explain what the data shows. You are a hands-on expert with a passion for advanced AI and for clinical trial data.

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, or a comparable degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Clinical Information Management or equivalent.
  • 4–6 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of and experience with AI/ML, CI/CD pipelines, Python and R.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • A good understanding of databases and SQL.
  • Understanding of clinical protocols, CRF standards, InForm terminology and EDC data structure.
  • Profound knowledge of GxP and drug development guidelines.
  • Experience in project management, collaboration and presentation.
  • Fluent written and spoken English, cultural awareness and the ability to work in a diverse, global environment.
  • A proactive, quality-minded approach, with strong analytical skills and the ability to plan your work.

Useful, but not essential:

  • Knowledge of clinical development and basic medical terminology.
  • 2+ years of experience within clinical data management systems.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and REST or other APIs.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and the AngularJS framework.

What you’ll do

You will own your projects and work with minimal supervision, in line with Novo’s SOPs and policies. Your work falls into these areas:

  • Build, validate and deploy deep learning models for patient stratification, endpoint prediction and data anomaly detection, and manage the model lifecycle, including versioning, drift monitoring and retraining.
  • Implement Generative AI applications, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, to automate document processing, query clinical databases and generate insights.
  • Build automated ETL pipelines on Azure DevOps and Databricks to harmonise complex clinical data sources. Apply DevOps and MLOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and advanced Python and SQL to deliver reliable, scalable and secure production applications.
  • Program, review and update complex clinical reports from documented requirements, using SQL, SAS, Python, R and CI/CD pipelines. Deliver on time, solve problems during a trial, and give stakeholders clear, actionable insight. Support leads in coordinating reporting with external partners.
  • Design, develop and maintain dashboards and reusable visualisation components that help users understand and analyse data. Support tools for data collection, transformation and analysis, test and debug end to end, and improve older databases. Create training materials and share what you learn.
  • Keep documentation up to date and work with subject matter experts to interpret trial operational data. Act early on concerns to protect data accuracy, consistency and completeness, and support data review training across CDMP and DSI. Lead or support small projects and give management input on improving standards and processes.
