About the department

The Global Legal, Intellectual Property, and Security (GLIPS) department at Global Business Services (GBS) in Bangalore is a cornerstone of support for Novo Nordisk’s global legal and intellectual property functions. With a focus on efficiency and high-quality delivery, GLIPS GBS operates across three key sub-teams, ensuring operational excellence, risk mitigation, and compliance across global operations. The department fosters a collaborative and dynamic atmosphere, where diverse expertise drives success in the legal and intellectual property domains.

The position

As an Associate Legal Counsel, your primary responsibilities will include:

Legal Advisory: Provide legal and compliance support to Rare Disease Operations, including Commercial and Medical Affairs teams.

Material Review: Conduct legal reviews of promotional and non-promotional materials for the Rare Disease portfolio.

Risk & Compliance: Handle competitor complaints, perform legal risk assessments, and advise on marketing, market access, and disease awareness strategies.

Event & Training Support: Support international congresses, approve promotional/medical activities, and develop training materials and marketing law sessions.

Projects & Initiatives: Drive legal and compliance projects, and implement training and communication initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law.  
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in the legal department of global corporations, with expertise in pharma law, legal, compliance and contracts.
• Excellent legal acumen and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Business ethics integrity and a service-minded approach.
• Stakeholder management and networking skills.
