About the department

The Commercial & Corporate Affairs – Global Business Services (GBS) unit is responsible for driving deliverables for multiple Corporate Vice President (CVP) areas within Commercial & Corporate Affairs, including Insulin, GLP-1 and Obesity Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Planning and Commercial Operations. The Commercial & Corporate Affairs unit also supports BioPharma global marketing for Haemophilia and growth disorders. In Obesity Commercial Unit, we are focused on changing the way obesity is viewed and treated today, as well as increasing number of people who receive innovative treatments and quality care.  In addition to driving innovative market development and communication efforts, the unit is responsible for the global commercialization and optimization of Saxenda® and Obesity & NASH pipelines.

 

The Position

The Pricing Lead will drive the pricing strategy, guidance and forecast development within the assigned therapy area. The operational pricing to enable and maximize business opportunities in operations within the assigned therapy area(s), incl. PBC and launch sequence optimization, Drive the pricing insights generation within the assigned therapy area(s) to guide strategies and evolve the organization’s decision-making on drug development, investment decisions, launch strategies and price business cases. Drive innovation in system and tools for pricing operations through automation and Visualization and implementation of AI.

 

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (incl. market access, commercial and NAO/IO) to ensure that the pricing strategy and guidance is aligned to the commercial aspiration/strategy, the market access strategy, the clinical profile of the product and the competitive environment in which the product will be launched.
  • Monitor and understand the pricing landscape in strategic markets, incl. international reference pricing (IRP), parallel trade and loss of exclusivity (LoE) dynamics, and for key competitors and outline strategy scenario planning for the NN asset(s) within the assigned therapy area(s). Support and challenge pricing targets and negotiation strategies in strategic markets.
  • Drive the pricing insights generation within the assigned therapy area(s) to ensure that the Strategic Pricing & Contracting team and relevant stakeholders fully understand the pricing environment and how price setting impacts factors such as HTA/reimbursement decisions, uptake and drug usage in both reimbursed and OoP channels.
  • The employee can act in accordance with the Pricing Procedure SOP and other key processes. Additional internal or external responsibilities can be granted by the manager and in alignment with key stakeholders.
  • Manage the operations of pricing systems and tools, proactively take initiative to improve the company’s pricing infrastructure and tools and ensure organisational capability building to take advantage of the systems and tools suing modern age technologies including AI and Machine learning.

 

Qualification

  • M.Sc., Pharm MBA, or MBA degree within economics, business administration, finance or similar.
  • At least 7 years of experience in pharma pricing, market access, business analytics or finance from an affiliate, regional or headquarter role or from a consultancy.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management as well as interpersonal skills are required Business acumen, strategic and operational thinking and problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify solutions and influence decisions towards patient access and business goals.
  • Technically sound, ability to automate reports and visualisation of data in Power BI and other visualisation tools.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
