Your new role
The Associate Director – Marketing, Obesity & Key Accounts will be responsible for leading the end-to-end brand strategy and execution for Wegovy in India. The role is accountable for driving business growth, strengthening brand positioning, and shaping the obesity care market through insight-led and customer-centric strategies. It requires strong cross-functional leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate plans into impactful and compliant execution. The role also requires agility to understand and adapt to evolving organisational structures, go-to-market models, and customer needs as the obesity market develops in India.
Your key responsibilities as Associate Director – Marketing, Obesity & Key Accounts will include:
- Own and drive Wegovy brand strategy with accountability for business performance, including sales, market share, and profitability
- Lead market shaping initiatives to improve obesity awareness, diagnosis, and treatment adoption in partnership with Medical, Market Access, and external stakeholders
- Design and execute an effective omnichannel customer engagement strategy for HCPs, institutions, and priority customer segments
- Ensure execution excellence through timely, high-quality implementation of marketing plans aligned to field needs and execution priorities
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Medical, Market Access, and Global teams to ensure integrated planning and delivery of business objectives
- Manage lifecycle planning to support launch readiness, portfolio expansion, and long-term brand sustainability
- Develop and execute key account/institution engagement plans, ensuring measurable outcomes and continuous adaptation to evolving market and organizational needs

About the department
The Cardio-Metabolic Marketing team is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies for cardiometabolic and related therapeutic areas. The team ensures strong brand leadership and measurable business performance by driving initiatives that improve disease awareness, appropriate diagnosis, and treatment adoption in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Your skills & qualifications
- MBA / PGDM or equivalent qualification, preferably with a strong academic background.
- Approximately 12 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing
- 7–8 years of experience in the marketing domain and at least 4+ years of people management experience
- Prior experience in launch strategy and execution, along with consumer awareness or patient activation campaigns, will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in leading brands, launch readiness, lifecycle management, or specialty portfolios
- Strong track record in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
- Prior exposure to high-growth, competitive, or innovative therapy areas will be an advantage
