About the Position:

Reporting to Director, Compliance Operations, you will hold critical leadership position within the business and act as a trusted and solution-oriented partner to the Compliance, Finance GBS leadership team and other key stakeholders. The Head of Compliance Operations collaborates with compliance and finance leaders to achieve results in line with Novo Nordisk's Business Ethics objectives. You will set the direction on all compliance matters, implementing robust frameworks that ensure our business ethics are never compromised and embed a strong ethics, quality, and compliance mindset across the business. This role entails fostering a culture of continuous improvement and demands a client-centric mindset, along with robust analytical and organizational skills.


About the Department:

Established in 2015, is now a robust organization with over 15 full-time employees responsible for supporting HCP office, Data Privacy, StudyPro, PxD, SARBOX, Analytics and Digitalization for Head Quarter and Region Europe.

For this purpose, we provide compliance support to all departments, ensure that the company acts in an ethical manner and make sure that our products reach patients in the best possible condition. As Associate Director, you will eventually lead a team of 25+ engaged and passionate professionals including data analysts and Team managers.


As the Head of Business and Finance Compliance GBS, your primary responsibilities will encompass the following:

Business Compliance:

Extensive experience of developing and implementing compliance frameworks and advising on regulatory matters including thorough understanding of EFPIA code and GDPR

Experience in handling a diverse team supporting HCP office, Data Privacy and Human Rights activities

Responsible for ensuring the process comply with government regulations

Ensure smooth operations- HCP office, EFPIA disclosure, Data Privacy, TPR, Human Rights, Risk reporting, StudyPro and reporting tasks

Define Organisation plans and contribute to BECO strategy

Explore areas to extend support to affiliates and provide value additions


Digital Compliance:

Drive Digital agenda to meet the BECO digital strategy

Continuous monitoring of digital project status and timely completion

Challenge our digital innovation and solutions


Financial Compliance:

Strong knowledge in handling Finance Compliance areas including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

Own and perform the activities as per the yearly Finance GBS audit calendar

Partnering with Group Internal Audit team and LoB for design review, minimum controls review and reporting

Explore opportunity for improvement and strengthening our line of defense


Build Analytics Compliance COE:

Build analytics compliance team with key focus on improving Investigations, Risk Mgmt, Strategy and Execution

Able to develop strategies for effective compliance data analytics and reporting. Strong knowledge in Selecting, configuring, and implementing analytics solutions

Able to create a team of experts within areas including predictive analytics, enterprise decision management, good understanding of algorithms to support with data-based decision making



Able to provide strategic leadership and effectively manage the team to deliver high quality outputs on Business Ethics, GDPR, SARBOX compliance, Minimal controls compliance and Digital compliance

Ability to develop talent and foster a culture of inclusion and equal opportunity

Providing strategic direction and operational leadership for all initiatives. Strong coordination with all stakeholders

Defining and implementing standardized processes across all locations

Staying updated on industry best practices and implementing those that enhance efficiency and effectiveness, elevating the group's performance

Managing key metrics to ensure compliance with service level agreements, KPIs, and benchmarks set by industry leaders

Contributing as a member of the Business Ethics Compliance Operations and Finance GBS leadership team, collaborating on strategies and objectives for the organization, and coordinating with process owners

Offering overall leadership for planning, staffing, goal setting, budgeting, supporting system initiatives, and implementing new processes and policies

Cultivating an environment that fosters maximum productivity, service effectiveness, professional development, open communication, and teamwork

Ensuring appropriate training and knowledge transfer across all relevant business processes

Adhering to all Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, internal policies, audit procedures, and regulations to ensure full compliance


As the Head of Business and Finance Compliance GBS, your Qualification will include:

  • Ideally possessing a degree in a related discipline
  • Significant experience of working within Business, and/or Finance Compliance and/or Analytics Compliance areas (at least in 2 areas is strongly preferred)
  • Can negotiate and positively influence decision making as well as the gravitas to advise various stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrating the ability to motivate and influence others, including experience in managing a diverse team
  • Excelling in managing multiple priorities and thriving in high-pressure situations with tight deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships at all levels in a matrix environment
