The position
As Associate Director – Accounting, you will set the direction for the Record to Report (R2R) process within our Global Business Services (GBS) organisation, partnering closely with the Global Process Owner (GPO) to define a clear vision and strategy. You will lead a talented team, drive operational excellence and champion the digital transformation of our accounting function.
Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the Record to Report process and month-end close activities, ensuring timely, accurate and efficient financial reporting within the GBS framework
- Maintaining and strengthening compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, the Minimum Controls framework and internal financial reporting standards across GBS operations
- Acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors – facilitating audits, coordinating documentation and building strong, transparent relationships
- Leading, coaching and developing the R2R GBS accounting team, fostering an inclusive culture that encourages innovation, collaboration and continuous growth
- Partnering with the GPO and IT to identify and implement digital solutions that enhance user satisfaction, compliance and efficiency across R2R processes
- Driving strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects, setting ambitious targets and aligning R2R strategies with broader organisational goals
- Identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement to ensure scalable, future-ready accounting operations within the shared services centre
Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced finance leader who combines technical accounting expertise with a strategic mindset and a passion for developing people. To succeed in this role, you bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; an advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience, including proven leadership roles
- Demonstrated expertise in managing Record to Report processes, internal controls (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley) and external audits
- A solid understanding of financial reporting and consolidation practices, ideally within a global or shared services environment
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and drive change across functions
- "Big 4" experience is considered a plus
