About the department


Global IT India is a team of 700+ highly skilled IT professionals located in Global Business Services (GBS) Bangalore. The main role of Global IT India is to 'manage' IT, which includes System Management, Project Management, Infrastructure Management, Compliance Management, Security Management, Process Management and Vendor Management. Commercial IT department is an integral part of the Global IT Organization within GBS India and is responsible for delivering projects and managing systems for Sales, Marketing, Medical & Market Access teams. In Global IT, we drive projects, manage critical IT systems, services and infrastructure used along the entire value chain of Novo Nordisk.


The position


The position holder will be working as Advanced Business Analyst II of the Novo Nordisk IT systems related to next generation Record Management System (GxP- SaaS) with a focus on management of lifecycle of system (end to end development and operation), compliance, validation and documentation.

The key responsibilities include Service Level Management and delivery of SaaS based GxP system deliverables. Own the system from IT Product Owner point of view in full collaboration with System Owner and/or Lob Product Owner and related team. Compliance Maintenance (Periodic Reports, Deviations). Audits and Inspection Preparation & Representation. Collaboration and Escalation with System Managers (Development). Key linking pin between support and releases/projects communicate critical issues/defects to stakeholders and drive them to closure and manage release in agile delivery model (DevOps). Business Relationship Responsibility: Communication to system owner, system manager, LoB management, functional support teams/super users on support status and issues. Vendor Management (Both SaaS and integrations vendors) ensure all deliverables are as per Novo Nordisk Quality standard and align the vendor expectation with product lifecycle and NN IT strategy.                                


The mission of Quality & Facilities IT is to provide global business critical IT support services for IT systems anchored in NN Quality & Corp Facility. These services, primarily involve, daily support, system maintenance, system releases, participation in projects and customer activities.


The services are to be defined by the customers and centred on satisfying business needs, hereby generating value for the business. Also, solutions are to be implemented and operated effectively in compliance with external requirements.


Quality & Facilities IT is located in Bangalore, India & works in collaboration with Quality LoB co-located at Bangalore and HQ; dealing with customers across affiliates, Novo Nordisk Quality, DAPI IT and Global Safety in Novo Nordisk.


As Advanced Business Analyst for next Generation RMC system the responsibility includes the following.

Relating to System, full ownership of global changes implemented from cloud vendor including technical risk assessment, impact assessment, implementation plan, deployment and change management communication. Define, develop and implement the changes related to upgrade, correction, improvement and added business functionality. Own the IT system in operation as IT Product Owner and work in full collaboration with System Owner, LoB Product Owner and his/her organization. Trend and report on relevant parts of the system budget. Responsible for the planning and execution of system activities in the system team. Software license and vendor agreement management. Produce system specific reports with corrective actions if applicable, that are subsequently reviewed with the relevant customers. Maintain a register of all outstanding service and system improvements and enhancements. Work on archival and retention process related to this IT system. Ensuring that the system is in compliance with relevant internal and external requirements. Ensure to be available as-and-when need during critical situation like system unavailability, major incident etc. Perform test activities in TIMS. System documentation as and when required


Relating to Customer, the responsibilities include prepare, provide and develop the services agreed in the SLA or otherwise. Manage the expectation of LoB, Customers and users concerning the use of the particular services and systems. Ensure that Quality Solutions provides the most appropriate levels of service to meet future business needs.


Relating to Process, the responsibilities include, being responsible for ensuring that existing services meet their service targets, that planned new services meet their timescales, and that targets are realistic and achieved. Participate in system strategy management work in cooperation with Service Manager.


In addition, for GxP critical systems the System Manager is responsible for the maintaining the validated state of the computer system (Direct impact systems). Represent system in connection with audits and inspections. Approve validation documentation. Ensuring that the relevant NN QA is kept informed about the status of the system. Evaluating and documenting, together with the relevant NN QA, the criticality of the components of the system. The evaluation shall be approved by NN QA. Ensuring that responsibilities and authorities for interfaces and transfer of data between systems are mutually agreed and documented, Obtain the necessary authorisation from the system owner to approve specific validation documents.


Relating to Vendor, this role requires, ensuring all deliverables from SaaS vendor are as per Novo Nordisk Quality standard. Align the vendor expectation with product lifecycle and NN IT strategy. Operational vendor coordination and negotiation. Maintain overview of and coordinate vendor day-to-day operation of the agreed services.


Relating to People one must ensure planning and task management within the applications in scope


Relating to Audit & Inspection, End-to-end responsible for Audits and Inspection Preparation & Representation




  • MSC, MBA, BA or similar graduate degree in relevant field (Software Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, Business Administration)
  • In-depth knowledge of ITIL, Incident, Problem and Change Management processes
  • Experience from working in a project oriented, international matrix organization
  • Min. 7-10 years of experience with IT project work or 2-5 years of IT experience covering specification, design, development or implementation of IT solutions
  • Min. 2-5 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or other relevant industry, combined with general business understanding or 2-5 years of experience within operation and maintenance of IT systems in large organizations
  • Min. 2-5 years of experience working with GxP requirements, validation & compliance
  • Experience from working in service level based organizations and managing service level agreements with customers and vendors with strong stakeholder management
  • Experienced in the use of office desktop applications and tools (e.g. Microsoft Office).
  • Experience in vendor management & handling budget responsibilities
