Sr Project Manager
Ballerup, Capital Region of Denmark, DK
Enterprise IT & Quality
Ballerup, Denmark
Lead infrastructure projects that connect our global sites and strengthen the technology foundation serving patients worldwide.
Your new role
As an IT Infrastructure Project Manager, you will manage end-to-end delivery of global infrastructure projects that standardize, strengthen, and expand the full Novo Nordisk IT estate—spanning hardware, networks, cloud services, and beyond. You'll oversee both greenfield and brownfield projects, including infrastructure for new buildings, while driving resilience, security, and operational efficiency across production and non-production environments.
Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:
-
Managing complete project lifecycles across global sites—from scope definition and planning through budget management, timeline coordination, risk mitigation, execution, and closure
-
Translating business needs into clear technical requirements and actionable implementation plans
-
Coordinating multidisciplinary teams including network and security engineers, operations teams, vendors, and local site IT
-
Overseeing projects in network infrastructure, network security, virtualization, backup systems, and driving modernization initiatives including automation and standardization of global setups
-
Conducting thorough impact and risk assessments to minimize disruption to production environments
-
Supporting urgent site-level priorities when critical issues arise.
Your new department
In Quality, IT and Environmental Affairs, you will be part of a business area that drives impact across the full Novo Nordisk value chain. We strive to stay close to our stakeholders in the business to ensure we deliver to their needs, helping reach millions of people living with serious chronic diseases. Our focus is on being at the forefront within our three areas: ensuring the highest quality for patients, being a trusted tech leader, and an environmentally responsible business.
You'll join Infrastructure and Information Security — Expansions and Projects, a dedicated team of 10+ project managers and solution architects based in Denmark and the US. We plan, design, and deliver global IT infrastructure projects across the entire Novo Nordisk worldwide network. We collaborate across the company, embrace curiosity and continuous learning, and apply the project management model that best fits each local project — recognizing that different countries and cultures use different approaches. We value psychological safety, knowledge sharing, and a supportive environment where everyone's contributions matter, while operating an internal project model and governance framework for large-scale projects to ensure consistent oversight, clear decision-making, and successful global delivery.
Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager who thrive in complex, global environments. You'll bring with you:
-
B.Sc. level or higher in IT, engineering, project management or an analytical field, or equivalent practical experience
-
Proven track record of 8+ years delivering IT infrastructure projects in large organizations—demonstrated results are more important to us than formal certifications
-
Strong planning, stakeholder management, and vendor management skills with the ability to take ownership across functions
-
Experience working in global environments with multiple internal and external stakeholders, navigating diverse cultural contexts effectively
-
Fluent English with excellent communication skills, independence, and proven cross-cultural collaboration capabilities.
