Senior Platform Engineer

This is the opportunity to thrive the intersection of cloud engineering and platform operations in our Container Platform Operations Team at Novo Nordisk.
Your new role
As a Senior Platform / Cloud Engineer, you will be a key technical contributor and driver within our Platform Operations Team. You will own and shape platform capabilities, influence architectural decisions, and help ensure that every developer and team consuming our platform gets a consistent, reliable, and modern Kubernetes experience, regardless of where their workloads run. You will act as a subject matter expert, mentoring colleagues and sharing knowledge across teams
This is not just an operation role. You will build, automate, and evolve the Kubernetes platform for the organization. You will be responsible for to
- Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments (Rancher & OpenShift)
- Drive the implementation of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible and Crossplane
- Build and maintain GitOps workflows using ArgoCD and develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security across hybrid cloud environments
- Collaborate with development teams to support the full DevOps experience from code to production and respond to platform-level incidents and drive root cause analysis and resolution
- Contribute to standardization efforts, ensuring a unified Kubernetes experience
- Engage with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure strict platform requirements are met and maintained

At Enterprise IT - Infrastructure in Novo Nordisk, we drive the infrastructure the organization runs on. Our Team sits at the heart of this containerization journey, owning and operating hybrid cloud Kubernetes platforms that serves developers, engineers, and production systems across the entire organization.
We operate across AWS, Azure, and on-premises environments in several domains using Rancher and OpenShift, and our ambition is bold: deliver a unified Kubernetes experience, whether a workload runs in the Azure cloud or deep inside a factory network with strict supplier requirements.
We are a team that takes pride in:
- Standardizing Kubernetes infrastructure at an organizational level
- Enabling the full DevOps lifecycle, from development to production
- Meeting strict platform requirements imposed by both internal and external stakeholders
- Bridging the gap between cloud-native and on-premises realities
Your skills & qualifications
To succeed in this role, we expect you to bring most of the following:
Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments, ideally both cloud and on-premises
- Solid expertise in Terraform and Ansible or equivalent for infrastructure automation, ideally with running Crossplane in production
- Experience with GitOps tooling, ArgoCD or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar
- Experience with running Kubernetes in AWS or Azure cloud platforms
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and storage in hybrid cloud contexts
- Experience operating platforms with strict compliance and supplier requirements is a strong plus

- Strong communicator, able to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Collaborative team player, comfortable working in agile and DevOps-oriented teams

Qualifications:
- At least bachelor's degree within engineering, computer science or another relevant area, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, or site reliability engineering

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600.00 to 1,091,600.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
