Your new role

As a Senior Information Security Architect specialising in Manufacturing Security (IT/OT), you will define and govern security principles that protect Novo Nordisk's manufacturing environments. You will translate these into requirements, controls, architectures and patterns that enable secure operations at scale. 

 

A key part of your role will be co-authoring and evolving the Manufacturing Security Target Architecture (STA) as part of our strategic priority programme – leading workshops, drafting, conducting peer reviews and strengthening governance and adoption. 

 

Day-to-day your tasks will include

Define and govern IT/OT security architecture:

  • Define and govern secure OT architectures security best practices, including network segmentation, zoning and conduits aligned to the Purdue model and IEC 62443 principles. 
  • Coauthor the Manufacturing-Security-Target-Architecture, including updates to requirements, controls, design patterns and governance, and ensuring the STA support our business in designing and operating a secure IT/OT environment.  
  • Contribute to adopting new technology trends e.g., cloud, edge technologies, and AI.  
  • Provide hands on architecture guidance to IT/OT initiatives, ensuring security is built in by design.  

Security assurance and operational readiness (in partnership with operations teams) :

  • Define requirements for visibility, logging and investigation support in OT environments and collaborate with relevant security operations and incident response teams as needed.

The Manufacturing Security and Acquired Companies team consists of 12+ employees dedicated to strengthening operational resilience and security in manufacturing and acquired manufacturing sites. You'll be part of the broader Information Security community at Novo Nordisk – a global, cross-functional network of security professionals collaborating to protect information, systems, and business operations across the value chain. As an integrated part of Enterprise IT & Quality (EITQ), we work together to safeguard the infrastructure that enables life-saving medicines to reach patients.

 

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for a Senior Information Security Architect who thrives on solving complex security challenges in critical manufacturing environments. You'll bring with you:

  • MSc or BSc degree in IT, computer science, automation, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.  
  • 10+ years of experience working with IT/OT or manufacturing environments, including industrial networks, OTconnected systems, or production critical infrastructure.  
  • Understanding of network architecture and segmentation, with the ability to define security requirements and establish security best practices.  
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex environments and security risks.  
  • Ability to translate security principles and standards into practical requirements, architecture, and design patterns, and to produce clear technical documentation. 

Additionally 

  • Familiarity with industrial security standards such as IEC 62443 or similar frameworks.  
  • Experience working with or around industrial control systems (e.g. MES, SCADA, PLCs).  
  • Exposure to regulated environments (e.g. GxP)  
  • Interest in or experience with emerging manufacturing technologies, such as cloud/edge solutions, data platforms, or AI enabled manufacturing use cases.
