Senior Coupa Architect

Deliver and design the future of procure-to-pay solutions and help shape how Novo Nordisk connects technology with business impact—on a global scale. 

Your new role 

We are looking for a Senior Coupa Architect to lead the architecture and solution design of our Coupa platform. You will ensure the platform delivers secure, scalable procure-to-pay solutions that support our enterprise strategy and generate long-term business value. 

Day-to-day your tasks will include: 

• Lead the architectural vision and strategy for the Coupa platform, translating business objectives into a coherent enterprise architecture. 

• Configure and optimise Coupa modules (Procurement, Sourcing, Invoicing, Supplier Management, etc.), applying best practices and standards across the platform. 

• Design and deliver integrations between Coupa and SAP (our primary ERP) and other systems to enable seamless procure-to-pay processes. 

• Partner with procurement, supplier management, finance and IT stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and deliverables. 

• Produce technical documentation, solution and reference architectures, runbooks and operational guidance to support deployment and ongoing support. 

• Facilitate workshops, write user stories and functional requirements, and act as the technical lead and advisor on projects and continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Mentor and coach internal development and integration teams to ensure high delivery quality and effective knowledge transfer.

We deliver and support stable, secure and optimised Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and finance solutions that enable efficient operations across countries and functions. Working with an enterprise mindset, we prioritise scalable, long‑term solutions that create value for the whole organisation.

You will also work closely with colleagues in Global Business Services (GBS) in India to co-create future-proof solutions that support Novo Nordisk’s strategic goals. 

Your skills & qualifications 

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Coupa Architect who brings both technical depth and collaborative leadership. You'll bring with you: 

• 10+ years of procure-to-pay implementation experience and at least 5 years working with Coupa in an architect or lead consultant role 

• Proven and solid experience designing and implementing Coupa modules: Procurement, Invoicing, Sourcing, Supplier Management and Spend Analysis 

• Proven experience with Coupa solutions and complex integrations specifically with SAP 

• Experience with security, roles & permissions, and data governance within Coupa environments 

• Familiarity with GxP, Sarbanes-Oxley, and audit-compliant system design 

• Ability to produce solution architecture, technical specifications, test strategies and implementation plans 

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across geographies; comfortable facilitating workshops with business and technical stakeholders 

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, or similar 

• Coupa certifications are advantageous
