Your new role
As a Senior Automation Engineer in the Manufacturing AI Solutions department, you will play a key role in building the digital foundation for AI-driven manufacturing. Your mission is to enable trusted, real-time Operational Technology (OT) data from manufacturing equipment and systems, contextualize it according to ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards, and make it available through a Unified Namespace (UNS) to power Manufacturing Intelligence, AI, Advanced Analytics, and Digital Manufacturing solutions.
Working at the intersection of Automation, Manufacturing, and Data Engineering, you will design, implement, and maintain industrial DataOps solutions that bridge OT and IT environments. Using technologies such as Kepware, Ignition, MQTT brokers, OPC UA, and cloud-native data platforms, you will create scalable, secure, and reliable manufacturing data products that enable enterprise-wide visibility and AI innovation.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and maintain industrial data acquisition and connectivity solutions using technologies such as Kepware, Ignition, MQTT, OPC UA, and other industrial standards.
- Enable secure, reliable, and scalable real-time data collection from PLCs, SCADA, DCS, historians, and other manufacturing OT systems through a Unified Namespace (UNS) architecture.
- Contextualize manufacturing data according to ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards by modelling equipment, assets, processes, batches, and production context.
- Build, monitor, and optimize OT data pipelines to ensure high availability, data quality, and performance for enterprise AI and analytics.
- Collaborate with Automation Engineers, Manufacturing SMEs, Data Engineers, AI Engineers, and Product Teams to deliver trusted manufacturing data products.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, information models, naming conventions, and governance standards while continuously improving platform reliability, maintainability, and cybersecurity.
- Contribute to ways of working by participating in planning, team events, and continuous improvement initiatives.
