Let’s talk about the role
As our new Product Manager (PM) you will play a key role in defining and executing the Hybrid Cloud and Containerization strategies for Novo Nordisk.
Initially you will be tasked with building out a Kubernetes Platforms team in C&CI to guide and counterpart containerization activities across Novo Nordisk. This includes establishing a Kubernetes operations offering across public and private cloud for interested NN teams. To succeed, your work needs to be done in close collaboration with Kubernetes initiatives and stakeholders across Novo Nordisk. You will work to establish an effective Kubernetes operating model across departments.
You will collaborate with 4 other PMs - for Cloud, Infrastructure Platforms, Network & Datacenter, and SAP - to drive and execute the C&CI strategy and its products roadmaps. The collaboration naturally involves system architecture, people leaders and the entire Agile Release Train (ART) leadership team.
You will report to the VP of Cloud & Corporate Infrastructure.
Additionally, your key responsibilities will include:
- Strong stakeholder management: Communicate, align and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders. Connect with our users through emphasizing and adapting a user-centric mindset, applying design thinking and involving the users continuously
- Own and drive product strategy: Define and execute the Cloud & Containerization strategy, vision and roadmaps by aligning strategy to business objectives, establishing equitable value exchange models, creating and communicating a compelling vision and managing flexible roadmaps. Ensures scalability, resiliency, compliance, usability, security and efficiency of solutions.
- Steer the ART for successful delivery: Manage and prioritize the ART Backlog in collaboration with the ART leadership team, guiding feature creation, accepting features, supporting architectural runway and be a key driver in ART events. Lead and empower product owners and product teams. Ensure a close connection between product strategy and implementation. Effectively allocate and follow up on the product budget, drive growth, maximize profitability, and achieve desired outcomes
- Deliver value and stable operations: Collaborating smoothly throughout the value stream, ensuring product completeness, enabling operations, releasing value on demand and meeting the business goals and budget.
- Role model: You are perceived as a thought leader through validated standards. You naturally train and mentor others. You naturally build formal and informal relationships and networks inside and outside the organization, to enhance shared value and increase collaboration.

The position is based in Cloud & Corporate Infrastructure which is a department in Global IT Operations (GITO). GITO is an area with 450+ employees distributed across more than 25 countries, managing Novo Nordisk infrastructure operations, service desk and digital workplace services globally. In C&CI we are inspired by agile methodologies and the SAFe framework. As an agile Product Manager, you will become part of the ART Leadership team together with fellow Product Managers in DK, People Leaders in DK, US and India, Release Train Engineer, System Architects, and the C&CI VP. We are a strong leadership team of 16 people who value honesty, humor, transparency and efficiency.
C&CI strives to support the rapid growth of Novo Nordisk and accelerate business transformation, including the shift towards 24/7 mission critical operations. We take leadership in developing, operating and managing the right technology platforms, while setting the strategic direction in collaboration with stakeholders.
What we scout for
To succeed in this role, we expect you to tick most of the following:
- An academic background in a relevant field e.g. IT, Engineering, or Computer Science
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading and managing IT teams and 10 years of IT experience in general, preferably in hybrid cloud infrastructure, cloud/hosting, or similar where the work combines operations and development
- Proven track record of leading Enterprise scale containerization initiatives at a strategic and tactical level in a hybrid cloud environment
- Proven track record of ability to lead complex products or projects through other leaders and/or through several highly specialized employees
On a personal level you can paint a compelling picture of our purpose and strategy that motivates others to action and clarifies the ‘why’ for everyone. You are proactive, can ask for help, dare to take difficult decisions and are comfortable in setting direction. You are fluent in written and spoken English.
