Your new role
As Lead Data Engineer at Novo Nordisk, you will be anchoring the below responsibilities:
- Define and enable the implementation of the best practices, standards, tools and services for data engineering, ensuring efficient data management.
- Enable the implementation of data pipelines, data platforms and tools by providing engineers automation and optimization capabilities to ensure the creation of FAIR data products.
- Design and implement agentic AI systems that can autonomously monitor, optimize, and remediate data pipelines with minimal human intervention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address technical requirements in addition to implementing efficiency improvements.
- Develop and maintain multi-agent systems that collaborate to orchestrate complex data workflows, from ingestion to transformation and delivery.
- Implement observability frameworks for agentic AI systems, ensuring transparency, auditability, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work in a high-performance team that fosters a culture of professional growth while promoting diversity and inclusion.
Your new department
You will be part of the AI Foundation area, in the Data Engineering Enablement department of Data Foundation. Data Foundation is globally distributed and has for mission to harness the power of Data and Artificial Intelligence, integrating it seamlessly into the fabric of Novo Nordisk's operations. We provide the foundation to integrate the areas of Data and Artificial Intelligence throughout the whole organization, empowering Novo Nordisk to realize its strategic ambitions to create a connected data landscape. We drive the innovation, process definition, and platform implementation in the areas of data governance, data engineering design, master data management, metadata management, data marketplace, and data quality aligned with business priorities.
Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in data, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
- Experience of 8+ years of in the domain of software and data engineering, with relevant 4+ years in Data Pipeline Engineering and Integration. Demonstrated experience in leading complex data engineering projects is essential.
- Strong proficiency in Databricks and a deep understanding of its core functions and tools to optimize data workflows and analytics.
- Extensive experience with programming languages such as Python, especially for data manipulation, automation, and model development.
- Proficient in SQL for complex query development, performance tuning, and data extraction across varied databases.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools, ensuring smooth and reliable software delivery and code deployments.
- Expertise in data modelling, data integration, metadata management, and data governance to establish robust and scalable data architectures.
- Proven experience in data quality frameworks and implementation, including data profiling, quality metrics, monitoring and remediation strategies across complex data ecosystems
- Experience in designing scalable data engineering solutions, working closely with business.
