Location:

Ballerup, Capital Region of Denmark, DK

Job Title: Data Governance Professional, Privacy and AI Compliance

Department: Enterprise IT & Quality

Location: Greater Copenhagen Area/ Ballerup /Denmark

As a Data Governance Professional, you will help shape how Novo and Enterprise IT put privacy and AI compliance requirements into practice. You will combine policy development with hands-on operational support, working across data governance with a strong focus on privacy, the responsible use of AI and data science, and their links to information security.

You will take ownership of maintaining and developing privacy requirements, controls and supporting guidance for IT solutions. Working directly with IT teams and data owners, you will help translate these requirements into workable solutions and carry improvements through to implementation. As Lead Data Ethics Responsible (DER) for Enterprise IT, you will also coordinate local privacy and AI compliance activities and drive our DER network.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues who provide professional guidance and specialist support. You will bring curiosity about technology, analytical thinking and the drive to move work forward, taking increasing responsibility and working more independently as your expertise grows.

Your new role
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and developing privacy requirements, controls and guidance for IT solutions, translating regulatory and internal requirements into practical expectations across the IT and data lifecycle.
  • Working with relevant specialists and process owners to keep this content current, address gaps and agree changes through the relevant governance processes.
  • Providing practical support to IT teams and data owners on privacy and AI compliance, including documenting processing activities, supporting risk and impact assessments, and following up on agreed actions.
  • Acting as Lead DER for Enterprise IT, driving and maintaining our local DER network, coordinating shared activities and helping colleagues carry out their responsibilities.
  • Contributing to policies and frameworks covering privacy, AI and data science, and information security, in collaboration with stakeholders across Novo.
  • Helping shape and deliver projects that improve how we manage, use and protect data, including simplifying compliance processes and supporting implementation of requirements and controls.
  • Developing and delivering guidance, training and communication that make requirements easier to understand and apply.

You will have a defined area of responsibility, with specialist support and clear routes for decisions and escalation on complex matters.

Your new department

IT Process & Compliance defines, governs and continuously improves fit-for-purpose IT and data processes. We help the organisation meet regulatory expectations and provide insight and practical partnering to strengthen compliance across Novo.

Our work covers process management, compliance awareness and partnering, and support for audits and inspections. We also drive the privacy agenda across Enterprise IT, helping the organisation protect personal information and meet data protection requirements.

We work closely with stakeholders across Novo to turn requirements and identified issues into practical improvements. You will join colleagues with different professional backgrounds who work together across policy development, operational compliance and project delivery.

Your skills & qualifications

You are at the beginning of your career and want to develop at the intersection of governance, compliance and technology. You may be a recent graduate or have some relevant experience from employment, a student position, an internship or project work.

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A relevant degree, for example in law, IT, digital governance, data science or business, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A foundation or interest in privacy and data protection, gained through study or practical experience, and an interest in AI governance, data governance and information security.
  • Curiosity about how IT solutions, AI and data science work, including how data is collected, used, shared and retained.
  • An analytical approach and the ability to translate complex information into clear explanations and practical actions.
  • Good collaboration skills and the confidence to ask questions, seek input and follow up with stakeholders.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

You enjoy both analysing a problem and completing the work needed to solve it. You organise your tasks, take responsibility for agreed deliverables and recognise when specialist input is needed. You look for ways to make compliance simpler and more effective.

We do not expect you to be a specialist in every area. We expect you to bring a relevant foundation, sound judgement and a willingness to learn.
