We are looking for an experienced Business Engagement & Delivery Director in the Global Data Office (GDO) for driving successful project delivery across the entire Novo Nordisk organization.

Behind the title 
As part of the Global Data Office you would engage and collaborate with stakeholders across various functions to act as strategic partner for delivering a strong data foundation to support them in unlocking the full potential of data. As a Business Engagement & Delivery Director, you’ll ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. By providing expert guidance and support to project teams, the Business Engagement & Delivery Director helps to ensure that Global Data Office continues to deliver exceptional results for Novo Nordisk’s Lines of Business. 

 

You will report directly to the VP, Head of Global Data Office, and be a member of the Global Data Office management team. 

 

The overall tasks will include the following: 

  • Develop and implement the global data strategy, in partnership with Business Engagement Leads, Capability Leads and Technical Product Owners, and service offering in alignment with Novo Nordisk’s and Line of Business strategy
  • Drive Global Data Office growth through successful project / epic delivery, client satisfaction, and expansion of service offerings
  • Maintain a client-centric approach, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they escalate
  • Manage escalations effectively, working collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to find timely and effective solutions
  • Manage a team of business engagement leads, project managers, business analysts and change managers, providing leadership, coaching, and mentoring to support their development and growth
  • Partner with strategy & planning and other DD&IT teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities

 

With these tasks, you are to lift the following responsibilities: 

  • Continuously evaluate the Global Data Office service offering to identify new areas of growth and opportunity 
  • Ensure the Global Data Office budget and delivery targets are met 
  • Monitor and report on Delivery KPIs, providing regular updates to GDO’s management team 
  • Foster a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring that the Global Data Office is an environment where all staff feel valued and supported 
  • Establish an environment for continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration 
  • Ensure consistent delivery methodology and governance are in place

 

What we’re looking for 

We are looking for a senior colleague who can lead teams to drive programs from ideation to success. A great team player who is target-oriented and demonstrates experience in analysing complex business problems, translating them into a transformation plan and delivering results.  

 

To be eligible for the role, you hold:

  • Bachelor’s or MBA / MA degree in Business Administration, Computer Sciences or a related field from a university or well-recognized institute 
  • 10+ years of experience in technology programme delivery, technology / data strategy, data management or data governance   
  • Substantial track record as a successful people leader, with experience of managing and leading a geographically and culturally diverse teams  
  • Deep understanding of delivery management such as delivery models, agile methodologies e.g., SAFe and SCRUM, frameworks, etc. 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills in advanced spoken and written English. Danish would be a plus
  • Strong client-centric mindset and value thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Proven history of launching and managing complex technology initiatives or large-scale programs while working with senior business & IT stakeholders 
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end data, digital and analytics project delivery. 

 

As a person, you can collaborate and communicate with different stakeholders, leadership teams, employees, customers, vendors, consultants, and cross-functional project teams. You are experienced in design thinking and leading workshops with multiple stakeholders. You have strong interpersonal skills, ability to lead across a matrix organization without authority, building a strong networking, and out of box thinking, always eager to launch and implement new ideas.

With the aim of ‘unlocking the full power of data’, we are a central driver of the Global Data Strategy to enable lines of business generate new value through the intelligent and creative use of a connected data landscape.
