Your new role
As an AI Scientist in AI Governance and Enablement in Enterprise AI, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that AI is developed and deployed responsibly at Novo Nordisk. Working at the intersection of responsible AI, risk management, and enterprise governance, you'll apply scientific rigour to evaluate, monitor, and improve AI systems throughout Novo Nordisk value chain that impact patients and innovators across the organisation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Translating responsible AI principles, regulatory requirements, and governance policies into practical methods and tools suitable for enterprise-wide usage
- Continuously adapting practices towards new forms of AI systems (also the next wave of Agentic AI) for safe, reliable, and compliant development and usage
- Enabling "AI to govern AI" capabilities, leveraging LLMs and agentic tools to support scalable, responsible AI development and deployment
- Designing and applying scientific frameworks to assess AI model risk, bias, fairness, and performance across production AI systems
- Collaborating with AI engineers, Legal experts, IT risk, cybersecurity, research & product teams, and business stakeholders to embed governance directly into AI platforms and workflows
- Supporting citizen developers and a broad range of users in adopting AI safely and responsibly

Within Enterprise IT sits Enterprise AI, a dynamic organization of AI Engineers, AI Scientists, and Platform experts dedicated to delivering impactful AI tooling and cases across Novo Nordisk. Our area comprises four key teams: Forward Deployed AI Engineering (reimagining core Novo Nordisk processes with AI), AI Core (providing custom AI platforms processing billions of tokens monthly), Citizen AI and BI Platforms (delivering SaaS platforms that fuel AI and analytics), and AI Governance (ensuring Responsible AI in our development practices). We're cloud-native, primarily working with Databricks, AWS, and MS Azure, and we embrace agility, diverse thinking, and continuous learning in a culture built on feedback, honesty, and fun.
Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for an AI Scientist who combines solid scientific expertise with the ability to navigate complex governance and regulatory landscapes. You'll bring with you:
- Strong background in AI/ML science, characterised by a Master’s degree (or equivalent experience). with proven experience bringing 3+ generative AI, LLM, or agent-based projects in larger organizations from pilot into production
- Experience with AI Governance concepts, including model evaluation, risk assessment and risk classification, bias detection, fairness metrics, explainability, and a pragmatic approach to risk-benefit balance
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multidisciplinary stakeholders, translating complex technical and governance topics for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong knowledge of governance principles, AI regulatory frameworks, and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, EU AI Act, ISO 42001)
- Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and translate them into pragmatic, scalable solutions to overcome governance challenges
- Enabling a pragmatic mindset, with the ability to work effectively in complex, cross-functional environments and influence across organisational boundaries without formal authority
- Continuous curiosity for the evolving AI landscape, with a demonstrated ability to translate external AI innovation into pragmatic internal governance rules and capabilities
Additionally, it would be an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in regulated or highly governed industries (e.g., pharma, finance, healthcare)
- Proficiency with AI-driven development workflows and CI/CD pipelines, including Docker-based environments and cloud platforms (MS Azure, AWS)
- Experience with AI agents and multi-agent systems, including hands-on experience with agentic frameworks (Microsoft Agent Framework, Google ADK, or similar)
- A pragmatic approach to risk-benefit balance
- Experience collaborating with security, risk, or compliance stakeholders

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 651,000.00 to 956,900.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
