Your new Role
As Corporate Affairs and External Communications Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Novo Nordisk’s external presence, stakeholder relationships, and reputation in Azerbaijan. You will directly report to the General Manager and act as a strategic partner to the business, ensuring that our external voice is consistent, impactful, and aligned with our long-term objectives.
You will oversee corporate communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and end-user activation initiatives, ensuring that all activities adhere to ethical standards, local regulations, and the Novo Nordisk Way.
Your main responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of corporate communications strategies that strengthen Novo Nordisk’s reputation and support business priorities in Azerbaijan.
- Manage media relations and external content, including press releases, executive communications, stakeholder materials and social media messaging.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including patient organisations, public, and people living with chronic diseases.
- Oversee customer awareness and end-user activation campaigns, ensuring measurable impact and continuous optimisation through closed-loop insights.
- Coordinate issue management and crisis communications efforts, ensuring compliant messaging, aligned external engagement and effective rapid response when needed.
You will join a dynamic, collaborative and forward-thinking team in our Baku office. The affiliate works across commercial and strategic areas to improve care for people living with chronic diseases in Azerbaijan.

Your skills and qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you should have:
- An established and extensive network across local media, policymakers, opinion leaders and influencers.
- Proven experience in running customer awareness campaigns with end-users, preferably within pharma, dermocosmetics, FMCG or telecom.
- Hands-on experience designing and executing closed-loop activation campaigns.
- Strong English language skills to collaborate internationally and adopt best practices.
- Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience in managing external agencies and budgets.
- A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Marketing or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Master’s degree in relevant field is preferred.
- International experience or exposure to multi-market campaigns.
- Understanding of regulated environments and compliance frameworks.
- Fluent communication in either of these three languages: Azerbaijani, Russian, Turkish
