Your new role 

As Vice President of Global Communication, you'll sit at the intersection of strategy, reputation, and transformation. You'll lead a global team through significant change while ensuring Novo Nordisk's narrative remains coherent, credible, and compelling across all channels and audiences. This is an opportunity to shape how we communicate our mission to defeat serious chronic diseases to the world. 

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

- Leading the Global Communication department through organisational transformation by championing a change-ready mindset and implementing a new communication operating model 

- Setting and driving the global communications strategy across social and digital channels, brand, the communications excellence hub, pipeline/product communications and enterprise communications channels 

- Managing the enterprise narrative and corporate brand strategy, ensuring consistent, aligned messaging that reinforces Novo Nordisk's mission and vision across all touchpoints 

- Managing reputational and high-pressure situations with proactive planning, early detection systems, and transparent, solutions-oriented communication that protects trust 

- Establishing governance frameworks for editorial and branding standards to ensure consistency and enable clear decision-making on messaging priorities 

- Serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, including the SVP of Corporate Affairs, EVPs, CEO office, influencing strategic decisions with reputational implications 

- Representing Novo Nordisk as a thought leader in external forums, conferences, and industry events, advocating our values across the global healthcare landscape 

 

Your new department 

Within Corporate Affairs, Global Communication plays a critical role in shaping and protecting Novo Nordisk's reputation worldwide. As we navigate increased external scrutiny and rapid growth, your leadership will be essential in ensuring our communications remain proactive, consistent, and credible. You'll work closely with the Global Corporate Affairs Leadership Team, commercial operations, and executive leadership to align our narrative with our ambitious strategic goals. 

 

Your skills & qualifications 

We're looking for a seasoned communication leader who thrives in complexity and can drive transformation while protecting reputation. You'll bring: 

 - 15-20 years of progressive experience in strategic communications, with deep expertise in strategy, including proven success leading global communication functions through periods of significant change 

- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence C-suite and Executive Management stakeholders, both internally and externally, shaping decisions with reputational and commercial implications 

- A track record of leading complex, cross-functional transformation programmes that deliver measurable reputation and communication outcomes across geographies 

- Expertise in reputation management, issues communication, and crisis response—with the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations with proactive, solutions-oriented approaches 

- Strong governance mindset with experience developing and enforcing branding guidelines, editorial policies, and communication standards that enable clarity and consistency at scale 

- Strategic business acumen that allows you to quickly grasp business context, shape priorities, and connect communication strategy to commercial impact 

- Master's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Brand, Marketing, or a related field
