The position
You will work as in-house expert and business partner on accounting issues guiding financial managers throughout the world and ensure cross-functional control and compliance with relevant standards. In addition to that, you will:
- Be involved in optimisation of reporting processes
- Participate in or be the project manager of cross-functional projects such as business development activities in close cooperation with other finance units throughout our global organisation
- Together with the team, contribute to the preparation of external financial reporting on a quarterly and annual basis, including ensuring efficient and accurate financial reporting in accordance with Novo Nordisk's accounting policy and IFRS.
- Maintain the accounting manual and assessing impact from new IFRSs and implementing these into corporate accounting policies is done in close dialogue with operational units requiring a strong business understanding in our team.
Because we aim to be true business partners by linking finance with business development, we expect you to invest significant time and effort in understanding the business environment in which Novo Nordisk operates.
Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced auditor or financial controller with solid knowledge of IFRS and preferable 4 - 8 years’ experience in a similar position or as an auditor dealing with IFRS compliance matters. Preferably, as the ideal candidate, you also:
- Hold a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar
- Have an inspiring and engaging personality showing strong responsibility for your tasks and projects
- Have a great sense of team spirit and you enjoy interacting with colleagues at all levels, but you are also not afraid to lead the way
- Excel in rethinking assignments and enjoy challenging the present as opposed to continuing in the same manner previously applied
- Are fluent in written and spoken English

About the department
Consolidated reporting comprises approx. twenty employees, divided into five teams; Team Consolidation, ESG Reporting, M&A Finance, Internal Controls and Team External Financial Reporting. You will as part of Team External Financial Reporting be part of a dynamic team of 6 technical accounting experts, which is responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting to top management and external stakeholders.
The department ensures that the Novo Nordisk group accounting policies and practices are implemented and followed. We are the Centre of Excellence within accounting in compliance with IFRS, consolidation and closing processes, ESG reporting, production and inventory valuation, M&A PPA and finance integration, preparation of the Novo Nordisk Annual Report, Quarterly Company Announcements and US Form 20-F filing. The goal for the department is to “be ahead of compliance” by proactively be in the forefront of all changes in the accounting environment as well as in the business of Novo Nordisk.
