Team Leader - People Manager of IES Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE)

The position
You will be the people manager for the Investment | Engineering & Sourcing (IES) Center of Excellence (CoE) team which consists of 4 dedicated employees with various backgrounds and competence levels as well as dotted line reporting to our support team in Global Business Support (GBS) in India that consists of 8 employees and our corporate legal colleagues (2 employees).
The team is newly established and is a key enabler for our overall function in securing continued growth in an efficient matter. The key responsibility for the team is to develop, improve and maintain best practices and processes for our core IES processes. The use of relevant data insights and digitalization tools is considered being an integrated part of this scope. The key processes include procurement management, strategic supplier management and contract management. By having a clear anchor for our processes and best practices, we enable our overall function in effectively driving our procurement activities within capex project which have been and continue to grow significantly.
As part of this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and develop the team to ensure optimal employee development, planning, and resource utilization
- Supervise and develop the team to ensure an engaging and motivating atmosphere, promoting team spirit and collaboration.
- Clarify direction and strategy for the team. As part of this, a key shorter term focus will be to co-create with the team the purpose, frame and buy-in from the entire function (e.g. our direct customers).
- Drive day-to-day activities and follow up on actions
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate possesses:
- A master’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, economics, or related fields
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in driving complex processes, process improvements, offshoring activities or other related fields
- You have shown creating followship in an informal leader role and aspire to transition into a leadership role. If you have previous leadership experience, you are also very welcome to apply.
- Proficiency in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all organizational levels
- Full proficiency in English

About the department
Investment | Engineering & Sourcing is part of the Product Supply organization. Product Supply is a modern technology organization that proactively drives the purpose of Novo Nordisk and delivers the highest quality of products to patients in a sustainable and efficient way.
In IES, we play a key role in ensuring that there is sufficient capacity to treat our patients worldwide. We are doing so by supporting our global capex projects succeeding in their projects through engineering and sourcing activities. When we talk about capex projects, we are referring to maintenance and expansion of production facilities.
As a function we sit in the sweet spot between our global supplier base and our colleagues in the projects who are considered our customers.
Due to the large growth in the overall company, we have also a significant increase in capex spend and related projects that we are supporting. This situation gives a fantastic opportunity to strengthen the contributions we are delivering even more as well as driving change through the capex projects in line with the company aspirations.
