We have a unique opportunity within Corporate Sustainability – Sustainability Data and AI. Are you ready to lead and facilitate delivery of Sustainability AI and digital use cases from idea through development? Do you possess a creative and innovative mindset exploiting and facilitate the use of AI and data to inform business decisions on a strategic, tactical and operational level? Do you know your way around both environmental and social Sustainability - If so, then you might be our new Sustainability AI and Digital lead for Corporate Sustainability working as part of the Sustainability Data and AI Department at Novo Nordisk.

 

Your new role

We are now offering a truly exciting and challenging role where you will play a significant part in transforming the way we operate within sustainability. We are at a crucial moment when it comes to sustainability – how can we leverage data, build solutions, ensure progress and deliver real value in an ever changing surrounding environment. This position offers the possibility to engage with senior stakeholders across the entire value chain of Novo Nordisk to generate and build AI and digital use cases within sustainability.

 

As part of the Sustainability Data and AI team, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Work in the intersection between strong technical AI and digital understanding and strong domain understanding within both Environmental and Social Sustainability.
  • Lead the overall strategy of AI enablement across Corporate sustainability with specific support to our two sister departments Environmental Responsibility and Social Responsibility
  • Lead the overall digitalisation agenda ensuring to transform our business owning the full digital value chain within Corporate Sustainability
  • Manage, drive and take ownership of the digital road map for sustainability and prepare business cases/plans for implementation
  • Co-lead the implementation of Novo Nordisk’s Sustainability Strategy both related to social and environmental sustainability by delivering AI and digital insights and analysis
  • Deliver insights and support to top management including staying on the forefront of the technological development e.g. by collaborating with academia or organisations such as WEF, NNF, WHO, Unicef, etc

 

 

 

Your new department

The Sustainability Data and AI (SD&AI) Department is part of Corporate Sustainability anchored within the CEO Office of Novo Nordisk. The department has embarked on the journey of using and enable AI and Digital tools as a differentiator within the Sustainability space. We want to become best-in-class among other things providing business use cases and opportunities to reach our ambitious sustainability target and strategy. Besides this SD&AI owns the Social and Environmental reporting and sustainability data foundation across the entire Novo Nordisk. The team consists of highly skilled reporting analysts, data analysts and data scientists who drive data analytics on the sustainability agenda on behalf of Novo Nordisk. The Department is currently consisting of 10 people in HQ and 2 colleagues in Bangalore, India. We work closely with stakeholders across Novo Nordisk to implement the sustainability strategy across our entire value chain.

 

Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Proven track record (+5 years of experience) in Social and Environmental Sustainability is essential, while experience with applied AI and digital solutions is secondary (but a pre-requisite).
  • A master’s or PhD degree within Engineering, Data Science, Sustainability, or similar and possibility relevant supplementary training in Digitalisation, AI and sustainability
  • Profound knowledge and experience within Data governance and/or Sustainability preferably also technical understanding of one or more coding languages such as Python, Java or other similar tools
  • Experience within collaboration with external stakeholders to obtain the necessary understanding and knowledge whether this may be in the sustainability domain or the technical area of AI
  • Solid knowledge and experience from one of the following topic areas; Reaching more people and underserved people by Equitable Access to treatment and preventive solutions; Reduction of CO2 emissions and Circular Economy

With an outgoing personality and strong communication skills, also both oral and written English, the ideal candidate excels at building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across different functions to drive change.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600.00 to 1,091,600.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
