The Position

You, as our new Enterprise Architect, will be responsible for leading solution & project implementation, by maintaining an enterprise-wide view and a deep understanding of technology and business needs. You will ensure that new technology solutions effectively establish new business capabilities and that current solutions are fully optimized.

You will act as a technology lead, supporting the business in identifying the need of  new solutions  as well as liaising with all parties involved and drive the project to a successful implementation. Furthermore, you will be the only Enterprise Architect in the team and your technical knowledge and experience are highly valuable in the decision-making process, setting direction for the SVP area.


Enabled by continuous stakeholder management and a strong focus on building and influencing relationships the main tasks in the role include:

  • Evaluating new technical solutions for appropriate business, technology, and architectural fit within Novo Nordisk.
  • Evaluating new technologies in support of Novo Nordisk’s business.
  • Understanding the relationships between business processes within Novo Nordisk, and how technology is and can be leveraged for greater effectiveness.
  • Driving the implementation of new technologies and solutions supporting our business needs.
  • Supporting the standardization of platforms and interfaces across systems, including user identity, APIs, and automation.


This position reports to the Director of CMC Business and Digital Solutions. You will interact with IT business teams, infrastructure/operations, security, and global architecture teams within CMC Development and outside of the SVP area. In addition, will have close collaborations with key employees in the department including project managers, the SVP IT Partner as well as execution teams.   


In the role you will join a diverse and international team consisting of 20 colleagues with different backgrounds and expertise areas. Our daily work language is English, where we use our differences and innovative mindsets in self-organising business focus groups applying agile principles in our daily work. To be successful in this role:

  • You have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Cloud platform architecture and design e.g., salesforce.com, Amazon web services, Azure
    • API and API gateway management, governance, and design
    • Adaptive application design
    • Data design and integration
    • Mobile application development
    • Data management and analytics tools such as MongoDB, Hadoop, NoSQL, Redshift
    • User & identity management, governance, and federation
  • Preferably you hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or other relevant area, or solid relevant experience in the areas mentioned above.
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills; previous project management or consultancy experience will be considered as an advantage.
  • Strong general business understanding and IT architecture skills.
  • Significant experience with evaluating and implementing new technologies.
  • Ability to lead a project in the development and implementation of processes and programs.
  • Ability to understand the architecture of systems and how applications integrate into those systems.


About the department

You will be a part of CMC (Chemistry Manufacturing & Control) which is the organisation that ties research and manufacturing together. The position is anchored in the department CMC Business & Digital Solutions, whose key mission is to execute strategic initiatives across CMC Development in the areas of Data Engineering, Demand & Supply, Business Intelligence, Digital training, IT Security, and IT Strategy in partnership with line of business.
