About the unit
Global Contract Manufacturing (GCM) is a unit in Novo Nordisk Product Supply organisation and responsible for Novo Nordisk`s operation of global manufacturing of drug substance and drug products at Contract manufactures.

Global Contracting Manufacturing is playing a key role in Novo Nordisk’s strategic products on the market in key countries – and in launches in new markets. Our role is to establish capacity at external manufacturers, set up the supply chain and transfer into operation. We collaborate closely with stakeholders across Novo Nordisk (from e.g. Regulatory Affairs and Launch Office to Manufacturing Development and Strategic Sourcing) and of course very closely with our stakeholders at external manufacturers. As we are growing, we are looking for new talented colleagues in several areas who want to join us on this exciting journey and help us succeed and bring new products to our patients.

The position
As Senior Project Manager, you will be the main leader and senior manager for one or more projects depending on the project complexity and size.

  • The key to success for the projects is collaboration and highly engaged teams. You will act as the driving force with the team encouraging engagement, ensure relevant project scope, and overseeing the successful completion of high impact projects, in close collaboration with our external stakeholders. We base the execution of our projects on the mindset of Half Double and Agile thinking.

  • You will define and execute the strategy for the project and establish and execute the traditional project tools like project plans, stakeholder management and communication, risk analysis, project performance reporting and appropriate governance across all units involved.

  • You will also be responsible for the oversight of the projects across a strategic product area - ensuring alignment/coordination between processes and projects

The projects
The projects are typically a tech transfer of a drug substance, a side chain or a drug product focusing on the preparation and execution of the PPQ and the establishment of the robust processes for commercial production and supply chain. Often the projects are new products handed over from the R&D/CMC organisation.

The project team will typically consist of specialists, QA professionals and supply chain professionals, and other stakeholders from several business units across Novo Nordisk like Chemistry Manufacturing Control, Manufacturing Development, QA, Regulatory, Supply Chain Management and Strategic Sourcing.

The successful completion of the project is highly dependent on your ability to establish close collaboration, creating a highly engaged team and effective governance on the projects and having strong leadership capability, engaging with project stakeholders (internal and external).

The position requires:

  • You hold an academic degree within, e.g. Pharmacy, Engineering or similar.
  • 5-6 years as project manager and/or line manager.
  • Advanced experience, leading and managing complex projects within the Pharmaceutical industry.
  • A proven track record leading projects in the area of manufacturing of pharmaceutical products or medical devices or from a tech transfer function, and you possess extensive knowledge of quality and regulatory requirements.
  • You have excellent analytical, planning and communication skills, which enable you to continuously set direction, keep an overview of the state of progress and prioritise accordingly.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English.

You excel in strong leadership skills and have a proven ability to network, build trust in your relationships and get commitment form internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you have a strong drive enabling you to persistently pursue your goals and achieve results.

As travelling will be an integral part of the job, you should expect extensive travelling on-site at the Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO). The amount will depend on the project, and geographical place of the CMO, length of stay can vary.
