This is your opportunity to own and drive the global Consolidation & Controlling agenda in a leading global pharmaceutical company. You will have the full end‑to‑end accountability for consolidation processes while leading and developing a high‑performing team. As Senior Manager, Consolidation & Controlling in Corporate Accounting, you will play a defining role in shaping the financial backbone of Novo Nordisk.
Your new role
As Senior Manager, Consolidation & Controlling team, you will be responsible for the consolidation of Novo Nordisk Group and driving standardisation, automation and continuous improvement.
The position is based at Novo Nordisk Headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark, with broad exposure to the global finance community.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5 professionals, setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and building capabilities to deliver high‑quality consolidation and controlling activities. Further, an active participant in Corporate Accounting Management team.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidation process, ensuring accurate eliminations, robust controls, and full adherence to IFRS and internal reporting policies. Further, the role entails consolidation work for M&A and integration activities, including entity set-up, mapping in consolidation system, intercompany and equity eliminations.
- Continuously improving consolidation processes and data flows by enhancing system usage and benefits (e.g., SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting), strengthening internal controls, and driving standardisation and automation in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor on consolidation and accounting matters, providing clear guidance, strengthening financial stewardship, and ensuring compliance to the rest of the business incl. regional teams, affiliates etc.
In addition, the team’s responsibilities include selected local and statutory responsibilities, including:
- Reporting to Danish Statistics and the Danish National Bank
- Preparation of the financial statements for the Danish holding companies
- Support of key reporting cycles (Annual Report, quarterly announcements and external audits)
Your new department
You will head up the Consolidation & Controlling team in Corporate Accounting, part of the broader Finance Operations organisation. Corporate Accounting is a team of ~40 dedicated finance professionals responsible for the closing of consolidated financial statements, internal controls and the external ESG and financial reporting as well as payroll activities for Denmark.
Your skills & qualifications
To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in accounting, finance, auditing, or a related field.
- Solid experience in group consolidation, external audit, corporate accounting, or financial reporting within a multinational environment or Big4.
- People leadership experience: demonstrated ability to lead senior professionals and develop employees
- Technical experience with group consolidation (e.g., eliminations, equity method, FX translation, hyperinflation where relevant).
- Hands‑on experience with consolidation systems (preferably SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting) and comfort working with data models, mappings, and validation rules.
- Interest in digitalisation, process optimisation, and automation (e.g., driving standardisation, leveraging system capabilities, strengthening control frameworks) is an advantage.
- Strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and deadline discipline; a proactive, structured way of working
