The position 

As a M&A Financial Advisor your main responsibility is to provide accounting and financial input associated with business development projects and acquisitions. Main responsibilities are: 

  • Assess the accounting treatment of business development projects and acquired companies 
  • Drive the preparation of purchase price allocations in line with applicable accounting standards 
  • Endorse and provide input to the financial modelling based on due diligence findings etc. 
  • Bring recommendations and advice to senior stakeholders during the financial due diligence process in partnership with advisors 
  • Ensure proper handover to financial integration teams 

 

You will work closely together with stakeholders from business development, business finance, tax, legal and other senior stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to develop best practice tools and processes for accounting and financial valuation of future business acquisitions. 

  

Qualifications 
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:  

  • A master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or similar  
  • Strong accounting acumen and optimally proficiency in IFRS 3 and IFRS 13 
  • Experience from valuation of businesses and PPA modelling  
  • Ideally, 2-3 years of experience working on the buyer’s side in acquisition of businesses, either in an acquiring company or as a M&A consultant  
  • Experience working in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry would be a benefit but is not mandatory

About the department 

As a M&A Financial Advisor, you will be reporting to the Head of M&A accounting and be part of a dynamic team responsible for delivering high-quality financial advice to senior stakeholders. The M&A Accounting team is part of a broader department “Consolidated Reporting” which consist of 30 professionals in 5 teams, responsible for consolidation, ESG- and financial reporting, driving strategic finance projects as well as internal controls. The Consolidated Reporting department is a vibrant, collaborative, and international environment with an informal atmosphere that focuses on collaboration and open and honest communication.
