Your new role
As Senior Ethics and Privacy Counsel, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide risk-based advice to the organisation on how to identify, assess, and mitigate personal data protection and data ethics risks
- Drive data ethics and data protection compliance initiatives by ensuring solid implementation and coordination globally
- Provide global strategic/tactical advice on data ethics and compliance and bridge legal requirements with digital initiatives
- Support creation and optimisation of digital processes and systems to effectively support and simplify compliance
- Develop, maintain and deliver engaging guidance, training and competency building to stakeholders to increase competencies and awareness
- Conduct data protection impact assessments and assist in handling high-risk data breaches
Additionally, we expect you to have an interest in tech regulations, execute complex projects, engage with relevant stakeholders, adapting to changing and diverse tasks. Your new department
Data Ethics and Privacy Advice (DEPA) is an energetic team of five employees and a manager. Our daily work includes close collaboration with a project manager, a training and awareness partner and two business support colleagues located in India. You will therefore get nine close colleagues. We are responsible for developing and driving the global data ethics program including data protection and AI ethics in Novo Nordisk. DEPA works with a global network of more than 150 personal data protection responsibles out in the Line of Business and is closely aligned with a 400+ strong global legal, ethics and compliance organisation.
We are part of the Business Ethics Compliance Office (BECO), which is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s global ethics and compliance strategy which includes personal data, AI, human rights, and anti-bribery/anti-corruption.

Your skills and qualifications
You hold a master’s degree in law and have 4-5 years of practical legal or compliance experience and solid project management skills, preferably from a pharma context. Other success criteria are:
- Strong understanding of global data ethics, privacy and AI laws and regulations
- Experience in building a strong framework and governance on data protection and data ethics
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to incorporate complex legal requirements into a business context
- Fluency in English
- Experience in assessing digital platforms from an ethical and privacy perspective, being tech savvy and knowledge about AI is a plus

Salary: For this role, the annual base salary ranges from 742,600.00 to 1,091,600.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
Placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives, as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area, and relevant market benchmarks.
