The position

As the Senior Director you will lead the global S&OP rhythm by owning the process that aligns demand, supply, finance, and production across the globe.

Moreover, you will be responsible for Capacity Planning of 6-36 months horizon, focusing on balancing the bottlenecks in the network.

 

Your main responsibilities will be focused on:

  • Drive Global S&OP process to facilitate collaborative decision making on tactical demand/supply trade-off decisions ensuring cost/service balance.
  • Enable the most efficient utilisation of Global supply network by coordinating product approvals and transfers across different sites.
  • Lead Capacity Planning 6-36 months horizon, focusing on balancing the bottlenecks in the network.
  • Run key decisions and ensuring seamless connection between regional planning and global strategy.
  • Challenge forecasts, align with capacity, and make strategic decisions to support business goals cost-effectively and sustainably.
  • Unlock global capacity and flexibility by coordinating product transfers and approvals across sites and regions.
  • Lead product launch planning in collaboration with commercial and operations teams, ensuring readiness and alignment.
  • Plan and execute timely product launches and discontinuations in a robust manner by managing and aligning activities across the organisation.
  • Inspire and build a high-performing team with clear priorities, direction, and a strong development focus.
  • Own process excellence and compliance as the Process Group Responsible (PGR) for key planning standards.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A master’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in global supply chain or operations, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Deep expertise in S&OP/IBP, demand & supply planning, and capacity strategy.
  • Confidence in navigating complex global stakeholder landscapes.
  • A proven track record of leading teams, making decisions, and delivering results.
  • Strong communication and strategic thinking skills to simplify complexity and engage stakeholders.
  • CPIM certification is considered an advantage

 

About the department

Tactical Planning and Global S&OP serves as a bridge between short-term operational planning and long-term strategic planning and allows Novo Nordisk to adapt to changing market conditions and business strategies. The department consists of 50 dedicated employees organized in teams headed by five Senior Managers.
