Your new role
As Senior Corporate Counsel supporting our R&D function, you’ll be driving strategic initiatives and operational activities to ensure a strong and effective legal support to the R&D organisation. The position has the following key areas of responsibilities:
- Providing strategic legal advice to the R&D function, with emphasis on Global Research, Therapeutics Discovery, and AI and Digital Innovation (ADI) teams
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating research agreements including collaborations, service agreements, NDAs, material transfer agreements, master agreements, SOWs, and SaaS agreements
- Independently identifying solutions to complex legal issues while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and internal policy requirements
- Working cross-functionally throughout US R&D to understand internal needs and vendor services, ensuring contract obligations are effectively managed
- Leading development of templates, tools and procedures to enhance legal support efficiency
- Managing high volumes of tasks with minimal guidance, responding with urgency to time-sensitive situations

Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for an accomplished legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. You'll bring with you:
- A master's degree in law
- 5+ years of experience in contract drafting and R&D support agreements, with experience in drafting, negotiating and establishing industry research arrangements
- Strong knowledge of national and international regulatory frameworks for public-private partnerships, including intellectual property rights, Health Care Professional compliance, privacy and AI regulation, and licensing rights
- Excellent negotiation skills with ability to drive complex negotiations and secure win-win outcomes while maintaining open communication
- Strong interpersonal skills with high accountability, combined with solid analytical abilities to understand complex collaboration scenarios
- Proven project management capabilities with ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment while managing multiple simultaneous tasks and meeting deadlines
- Client-service orientation with great attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to switch gears easily with a "can-do" attitude
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
- Fluent written and spoken English and good sense of humour
