The position – Senior Cloud Connectivity Architect to our Cloud Connectivity Team

Novo Nordisk Global IT Operations are looking for a Senior Cloud Connectivity Architect to our Cloud Connectivity team. In this role, you will play a key role in architecting and building the new resilient and scalable connectivity, necessary for Novo Nordisk to utilize cloud services globally.

The Cloud Connectivity team consists of 6 team members from Denmark, India and US. Cloud Connectivity is responsible for architecting and building resilient and scalable connectivity, necessary for Novo Nordisk to utilize cloud services and deploying standard IT commodities and 'off the shelf' services, supported by Global IT and selected vendors. The team actively participates in different proof of concepts taking in Cloud Connectivity requirements from our line of business and designs, implements, and operates solutions. In addition, the team provides support to Novo Nordisk departments and projects that consume our services. The team understands the newest Cloud Connectivity services and how they apply or create possibilities to Novo Nordisk. The team has a strong focus on learning while delivering high quality and having fun.

You will play a key part in designing and building Novo Nordisk Cloud Data Centres across our regions, that accounts for scale, security, governance, compliance, networking, and identity. You will work closely with vendors, with colleagues from Global Information Security and Compliance, to continually improve the resilience and security posture for cloud connectivity.

As a Senior Cloud Connectivity Architect, you will also guide and support team members with less experience than yourself and support the Cloud Connectivity Product Owner in strategic decisions. You will collaborate with other cloud teams, our management teams and global stakeholders as well.

 

Some of the exciting things you will get to work with are:

  • Architect/Design how different parts of the business can connect to the cloud, as well as each other, by investigating different technologies including edge networking and utilizing cloud vendor backbones.
  • Providing an “on-ramp” for Novo Nordisk’s continuous journey in becoming Cloud Native supporting digitalization and innovation
  • Making the world a smaller place by providing connectivity hubs in strategic locations

 

Your qualifications

  • You have an IT related education, preferably at BSc level or higher, and/or several years of relevant professional experience within IT and network.
  • You have minimum 8 years of experience working with network infrastructure and network/connectivity for both on-premise and cloud solutions in a large or global organisation.
  • You have extensive experience with designing Network reference architectures for public cloud – preferably AWS, Azure and hybrid cloud solutions.
  • You are able to provide subject matter expertise on network / cloud technologies to management and our Lines of Business
  • You preferably have experience with Azure DevOps workflows, specifically with YAML CI/CD pipelines.
  • You have ARM template experience.
  • You have experience with PowerShell, Azure CLI or other scripting language
  • You preferably have experience from working within an Agile/SAFe/ framework.
  • As a person you are motivated by challenging assignments, you absorb new knowledge quickly, and you are always open for developing new competencies.
  • You have a cross-cultural understanding and are fluent in written and spoken English
  • It’s an advantage if you have experience from the pharma industry or another regulated industry

 

The department – Cloud and Corporate Infrastructure

The position is based in the department Cloud & Corporate Infrastructure (C&CI), within Global IT Operations. The department consists of highly skilled cloud architects, engineers and automation professionals, who possesses strong technical network and platform skills and solid business understanding. The C&CI department holds four agile teams that work with cloud: An Azure Platform team, an AWS Platform team, a Cloud Connectivity team and an Automation and Tooling team. The teams are global and hold team members from US, Denmark and India. All teams work closely with numerous business stakeholders and our colleagues in Global IT. This position belongs with the Cloud Connectivity team.

The position is based in Bagsværd, Denmark.

Some business travels can occur, approximately 7-10 days per year.
