The position
As Senior Category Project Lead, your role involves participating in and leading procurement projects related to M&A and pipeline projects. You will be the one who is on top of all activities in the department related to M&A and pipeline projects and you will be the link to our Center of Excellence for Alliance, Acquisitions & Product Portfolio Management.
You will be ensuring operational, tactical, and strategic planning for the Packaging aspects of M&A and pipeline activities, including ensuring organizational readiness as well as budgeting.
Your primary responsibilities include:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for matters related to strategic sourcing of packaging materials in mergers and acquisitions
- Developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies for M&A and pipeline projects
- Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and issues, and implementing strategies to mitigate them
- Coordinating with cross-functional teams across Novo Nordisk to ensure seamless integration of acquired companies and assets into the organization
- Identifying and creating improvements to processes to increase efficiencies
You will also engage with stakeholders from acquired companies to understand their processes and requirements, providing expertise and guidance on procurement matters during the mergers and acquisitions as well as with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with the overall integration strategy.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we believe you:
- Hold a master’s degree in science, manufacturing, project management, supply chain management, engineering, finance, or a related field
- Demonstrate hands-on experience in project management and/or project portfolio management experience across a regulated sector
- Possess a proven track record of both successful project and category management, coupled with experience with strategic sourcing and supplier management
- Showcase solid communication and negotiation skills
- Display proficiency in both spoken and written English
It would be considered as a strong advantage if you have experience or knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory requirements.

About the Department
SSIMS is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division. We are responsible for securing that we have suppliers in place that can support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our international supplier networks, we ensure availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that helps millions of people around the world to live with chronical diseases.
