Are you ready to make a significant impact in the healthcare industry? At Novo Nordisk, we are looking for a passionate Senior Category Manager to join our Corporate Procurement team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to drive global category strategies, collaborate with key stakeholders, and manage relationships with top suppliers.

 

The position

You will join a team of 5 procurement professionals in Bagsvaerd, Denmark, as a Senior Category Manager, where you will be responsible for strategically directing the development of global categories within Professional Services, aligning strategies with key stakeholders, and identifying local and regional strategic opportunities.

Some of your responsibilities will be to:

  • Define category strategies aligned with key stakeholders and execute local/regional opportunities, conducting market and spend analysis to uncover cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Monitor category performance and make adjustments as needed, leading global meetings to advance strategic objectives.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring strong partnerships to enhance performance, conducting supplier reviews and performance evaluations, and negotiating favourable agreements.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aligning category strategies with broader business goals, working closely with various departments to drive strategic initiatives and strengthen collaboration with GBS colleagues.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trainer, providing guidance to colleagues in Corporate Procurement, mentoring less experienced Category Managers, and supporting GBS colleagues in their professional development.

 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience within Category Management and/or Strategic Procurement is required.
  • Deep expertise in developing strategies that impact the corporation, integrating market and competition insights.
  • Understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and commercial models within Professional Services.
  • Experience in building long-term partnerships and engaging colleagues in joint decision-making on a global level.

As a person, you excel in stakeholder management, proactive in adding value and earning trust. You are skilled in driving change and fostering a culture of renewal. Your working style engages teams, while your negotiation, communication, and project management skills are effective and adaptive. Additionally, you possess a strong grasp of data management and analysis, enabling impactful insights and reporting.

As well, you are fluent in both written and spoken English.

Corporate Procurement manages Novo Nordisk's global indirect spend of approximately 130 billion DKK. We define and drive the global procurement strategy with around 200 employees in Denmark and over 500 globally, acting as a strategic partner in executing the company’s strategy.
