The position
As one of our Senior Category Managers, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced colleagues and play a pivotal role in identifying/implementing strategic solutions within outsourced manufacturing and packaging services categories. Your responsibilities will include driving strategic sourcing initiatives, leading negotiations, identifying, and partnering with external partners namely Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) within the Drug Product manufacturing and final Product production space. These collaborations with external partners are of paramount importance to ensure that we deliver on our supply chain ambitions for our patients.
To be successful you will:
- Actively engage with various parts of the organization to gain a deep understanding of business needs
- Translate business needs into strategic supply chain and category-specific strategies, while identifying and partnering with external providers
- Analyze and understand market trends within contract manufacturing and CMOs role in the current Drug Product manufacturing space and effectively present results/recommendations to senior management
- Lead contract negotiations under pressure, and manage ongoing supplier relationships
- Ensure strong fundamentals in categories such as contracting, negotiations, supplier collaboration structures, and risk assessments
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine you to:
- Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, business, engineering, or any other relevant field
- Have a previous experience within procurement/sourcing from a large international organization
- Demonstrate experience working in a regulated industry such as pharmaceutical, medical devices, automotive, health care, food, dairy, or cosmetics industries to name only a few
- Possess strong communication and presentation skills
- Be fluent in both verbal and written English
The ideal candidate will have a commercial and strategic mindset, with the ability to quickly grasp complex business models and industry dynamics. You can put the strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into actionable sourcing decisions, maintain a holistic view of the entire category, and manage projects with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of numbers. Additionally, you should thrive in a multicultural and fast-paced environment, bringing a 'can-do attitude' and a healthy sense of humor to work, even under pressure."
About the department
Global Strategic Outsourcing & Devices (GSOD) is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division. Through collaboration with our international supplier networks, we ensure the availability of external supply needed to develop and produce products that help millions of people around the world living with chronic diseases.
