The position
As Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient and robust category management, both in the short- and long-term, for production supplies and services. You will be working on different categories and be collaborating closely with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally within our global sourcing organization, as well as externally with suppliers.
You will be responsible for:
• Creating and developing category strategies to securing long-term supply for services (cleaning, sterilization, waste management, outsourced analysis etc).
• Working with various development functions across PS to develop specifications for both existing and new material, services, and external requirements
• Managing and mitigating risks associated with sourcing and procurement activities to ensure continuity of supply and minimal disruption
• Leading contract creation and negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions for the organization
• Driving projects that explore new processes, technologies, and innovative sourcing methods to be ahead of the curve
Your role also involves exploring and creating category transparency across the organization by connecting projects and ideas within different fields, including sustainability, data management, source to contract, etc.
You will be based in Denmark and work closely with our local and global Production sites in Brazil, China, Denmark, France, and USA. As you will be working with suppliers and internal stakeholders internationally, you should expect some travel activities.
The current office location is Bagsværd; however, the department will be relocating to Taastrup in February 2025.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we believe you:
• Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, procurement, business, engineering, project management or any other relevant field
• Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing or category management obtained within an international organization or a consulting company
• Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills
• Showcase fluency in both written and spoken English
As a person, you possess an agile and strategic mindset and an ability to quickly understand different business models and industry dynamics. You can put strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into specific supply chain related decisions. You are a skilled professional with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of numbers. Finally, you enjoy working in a multicultural and high-pace environment and bring a ‘can-do attitude’, and a healthy sense of humour to your work also when under pressure.
About the department
SSIMS is one of the central sourcing units in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, responsible for short- medium- and long-term strategic sourcing activities, which involves global identification and strategic management of suppliers for Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production sites.
You will be part of a diverse department that ensures global supply of Energy, Production Services, and Supplies such as Gowning, Waste Management, Sterilizations services, and other critical production materials and services. Joining our team, you will be surrounded by several experienced international Category Managers, allowing you to continue your development within the sourcing domain.
