The position
As Raw Material Scientist, you will play a key role in managing critical issues and ensuring optimisation of raw material controls used globally in accordance with Novo Nordisk standards, while also navigating a complex stakeholder landscape and collaborating across functions.
Your key tasks will include:
- Having the scientific responsibility for raw materials used in Novo Nordisk productions worldwide
- Establishing internal material specifications through continuous evaluation of both internal and external requirements
- Providing support in day-to-day operations to ensure seamless incoming controls of materials
- Scientific evaluation of critical cases such as deviations or change requests and assessing their impact on product quality and patient safety
- Improving and optimizing procedures in technical and scientific projects across the organisation

While this position is primarily office-based, we offer flexibility to work from home when the tasks at hand allow it. The position is currently located in Bagsværd and will be moved to Taastrup in the beginning of 2026.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we imagine you:
- Hold a minimum of a master’s degree in science, such as chemistry, pharmacy, engineering, or another relevant field within the natural sciences
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with handling raw material controls and with GMP
- Possess strong technical and analytical skills and can use those actively
- Showcase a proactive and result-oriented mindset
- Display proficiency in both spoken and written English

About the department
The position is for the “Processes and Raw Material Specifications” team in the RAW department, Material Manufacturing Development, Sourcing Operations in Product Supply. In the RAW Department, we are responsible for implementation and management of complex materials (raw materials, excipients etc.) from the use in development to production, as well as maintaining documentation on existing materials.
We cooperate extensively with a broad variety of functions, including CMC, QC laboratories, QA, inbound supply, warehouse, various Novo Nordisk production sites and a range of external suppliers and contract manufactures.
