The position

As a Raw Material Scientist, you play a pivotal role in overseeing critical materials used in our GMP production. Your primary focus revolves around process aids and Single Use System (SUS), such as connectors, sterile filters, bags, hoses, and more, essential for our filling facilities.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to establish effective material control strategies and defining material release specifications aligned with Novo Nordisk’s standards
  • Addressing promptly urgent issues and conducting active scientific evaluations of critical cases
  • Serving as a competent representative of our team in technical and scientific discussions across various projects within the organisation
  • Assessing change notifications from suppliers for potential impacts on product quality, participating in root cause investigations for system failures or deviations from specifications
  • Ensuring production’s needs are met when introducing new process aids and SUS, providing input to quality agreements with material suppliers

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we believe you:

  • Hold a minimum of a master’s degree in engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related discipline
  • Possess experience in aseptic production, isolators, or cleaning and sterilisation process, along with expertise in raw material control
  • Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills within a GMP environment
  • Showcase fluency in both spoken and written English

If would be considered an advantage if you possess strong knowledge in polymer chemistry or engineering.

You demonstrate a structured approach, with a natural ability to prioritise effectively and take decisions to ensure tasks are completed. About the department
You will join the RAW team, a part of Material Manufacturing Development in Product Supply, Sourcing Operations. We consist of ~50 employees organised in four teams, with this position located in Process Aids and SUS.

We are responsible for the development, implementation, and management of complex materials (such as raw materials, excipients, etc.) from their use in development to production, maintaining thorough documentation on existing materials. Extensive collaboration is a key aspect of our work, spanning various functions, including R&D, QC laboratories, QA, inbound supply, warehouse operations, multiple production sites, and a range of external suppliers and contract manufacturers.

As a team member, you will be able to assume a significant amount of responsibility, with the necessary support from the team to develop and improve your own capabilities. While this position is primarily office-based, we offer flexibility to work from home when the tasks at hand allow. The position is located in Bagsværd but will be moving to new office spaces in Høje Taastrup in December 2024.
