The position
As a Public Affairs Intern, you will support our work to effectively push for political action that helps to improve the lives of people living with chronic diseases. Through this position, you can strengthen your skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs. 
Your responsibilities are included, but not limited to:

  • Monitoring, following and briefing on various political developments in both a Danish and EU political context with interest to Novo Nordisk
  • Preparing events and meetings for Novo Nordisk executive management / Global Public Affairs held internally and externally with political stakeholders
  • Producing briefs, backgrounds, and support with logistics
  • Supporting Ad-hoc projects including collecting data and background information, creating presentations, meeting preparation, and making public affairs strategies

Practicalities

  • Internship period: a minimum of 6 months with the possibility to extend to 12 months
  • Working hours: 18-37 hours per week (with the flexibility during exam period)
  • Start date: 1 August 2024 (precise dates to be agreed)
  • Location: Bagsvaerd, Denmark (The headquarters office)
  • A Danish full-time work permit is required
  • Internships are remunerated if your educational track allows

Kindly note that students must be enrolled at a university through the entire internship period. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with internal and external stakeholders, gain experience in overall project management, gain experience in public affairs, and work with policy shaping from a corporate perspective. 
 

Qualifications 
You are a Student who is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Political Science, International Business and Politics, Business Management, or another similar field, with a minimum of 1-2 years of study remaining.
To succeed in this role, you need:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Curiosity with an understanding of Politics
  • A strong will to succeed, a lot of energy, and the capacity to work both individually and in groups
  • Great time management skills with a high-quality workload delivery
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and Danish

About the department 
Global Public Affairs & Patient Relations (GPAPR) is part of the Global Public Affairs & Sustainability area in Novo Nordisk. We aspire to be a proactive and solutions-oriented partner to patients and policymakers in the joint ambition to raise the standards of care in our therapy areas and help solve society’s fundamental challenges. 
The role is anchored in the Danish and EU Government Affairs team, which is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s dialogue with decision-makers and politicians in Denmark and the EU with a focus on contributing to society and securing the right framework conditions for Novo Nordisk. The team is equally split between employees in Brussels and Bagsværd.
