Your new role

As Outsourcing Professional in Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control (CMC) Outsourcing area your day-to-day work will be a varied mix of responsibilities supporting and interacting with your senior colleagues as well as both internal and external stakeholders. You will be challenged by working on various projects within the drug substance area with high complexity and be involved in all aspects of the outsourcing discipline, including scientific, technical and commercial aspects.

With your interest in improving and simplifying processes, you will learn to operate and navigate within outsourcing management by supporting and collaborating and closely with Outsourcing Managers and Contract Managers on all levels to gain valuable insights, knowledge and experience within:

• Business Development: strategy development, selection & approval of CMOs contracts & negotiation.
• Project Management: budgeting, purchase ordering & invoicing, project plans & schedule management.
• Stakeholder Management: cross-organisational collaboration with relevant stakeholders across Novo Nordisk and contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) relationships.

To succeed as an Outsourcing Professional, you should effectively support outsourcing projects end-to-end by selecting, approving, and managing CMOs while fostering strong commercial and technical relationships in close collaboration with key stakeholders. You also excel by executing outsourcing strategies with clarity and ensuring a smooth, well‑aligned transfer of responsibilities to Product Supply.

Your skills and qualifications

We expect you to have a MSc or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry or other relevant life science degree in combination with:

• 2-3+ years of experience from the pharmaceutical or equivalent regulated industry, worked with e.g. current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
• Project Management experience (e.g. Lean or Scrum), preferably working with technical or commercial projects in an international environment or consultancy.
• Interest in AI tools and the ability to work with various IT systems.
• Proficiency in English both verbally and written.

To succeed in this role, great stakeholder management and communication abilities is needed as well as capability to work within a complex interdisciplinary organisation. As a person, you are proactive, positive, and independent, with the ability to support multiple tasks simultaneously.

You are known for your ability to create an overview, but at the same time a keen eye for details. Your interest in business perspectives is evident, and you understand that the complexity of outsourcing solutions requires a curious and solution-oriented mindset for success.

Your new area 

The CMC Outsourcing team supports the Novo Nordisk development pipeline. Comprising approximately 30 dedicated and experienced employees, the department is responsible for executing sourcing and outsourcing activities. This includes selecting competent collaboration partners, negotiating contractual frameworks, and project management until all deliverables are completed. The department is a part of CMC Product & Process Development and plays a significant role in bringing new medicinal products to the market.
