The Position
As the Nature Restoration and Partnerships Lead, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to drive and execute our nature restoration strategy. Your role will involve developing and implementing strategies and partnerships that amplify our positive impact on nature through collective action. You will also play a key role in building our external profile and engaging at international events.

 

Key responsibilities will include:
•    Collaborate closely with the Nature team to define and develop Novo Nordisk’s comprehensive approach to nature restoration beyond our immediate value chain. This involves investigating potential partnerships and integrating nature restoration efforts with Novo Nordisk’s broader sustainability and public affairs agenda.
•    Identify and engage with the right partners to deliver our restoration projects, with a focus on collective action and water replenishment, supporting our ambition for biodiversity-positive sites within Denmark and working closely with international production sites and affiliates to ensure engagement and co-creation of plans.
•    Progress tracking is a vital, ensuring that the restoration ambitions within our Nature Roadmap stay on track. You will follow up and lead on existing projects in collaboration with NGOs, which started up as part of the roadmap.

 

Additionally, you will coordinate our participation in key external events, such as the Biodiversity and Climate CoPs and New York Climate Week. Positioning our Circular for Zero strategy and senior leaders effectively, you will foster relationships with peers to drive action.

 

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will possess a relevant academic degree, preferably a master’s as well as the following set of skills and experiences:
•    Experienced project manager capable of working across multiple projects.
•    Experience in nature restoration projects, with an understanding of best practice principles and monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
•    Knowledge of emerging corporate restoration propositions, including biodiversity credits, landscape approaches, and finance mechanisms.
•    Background in working with NGOs and partnerships, preferably in nature conservation.
•    Good communications skills and experiences working within a broad stakeholder landscape  .

 

As a person, you are an excellent communicator with a talent for building collaborations and inspiring people to drive change. You are also highly diplomatic with the ability to foresee potential issues and identify solutions in advance.

 

About the Department
The world is changing and so are we. With a significant growth outlook for Novo Nordisk, it is of very high importance that the right environmental, nature and biodiversity solutions are created to drive the change towards zero environmental impact. Corporate Environmental Strategy is a diverse team responsible for ‘Circular for Zero’, where we strive for zero environmental impact. Our responsibility includes a variety of environmental initiatives across the organisation and with external stakeholders. We develop and deploy environmental strategies, run cross- organisational projects, drive environmental intelligence and ensure internal and external communication leading to a reduced Novo Nordisk environmental footprint. The department consist of 20 dedicated project managers and specialists, all highly engaged in driving the environmental strategy of Novo Nordisk.
