The position
The M&A Financial Advisor is a newly created role, where the main responsibility is to provide the accounting/financial input associated with acquisitions and post-deal integration on complex M&A and business development activities. Your main task is to drive financial due diligence and integration from an accounting perspective, including:
- Assessing the accounting treatment and support on the financial modelling
- Designing the plan for SAP implementation and coordinate efforts with IT colleagues
- Ensure monthly reporting are done on time in collaboration with the acquired finance organisation and Business Finance
- Bridge and standardise accounting policies to align with Novo Nordisk accounting practise
- Drive the preparation of the purchase price allocation documentation
This is a great opportunity to develop best practise tools and processes for the integration of future business acquisitions.
You will work closely with core team stakeholders from Business Finance, Tax, Legal and Business Development. The role thus provides a fantastic opportunity to be at the centre of strategic growth opportunities in Novo Nordisk and engage with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar.
- 3-5 years of experience working on buyer side in acquisition of businesses, either in an acquiring company, or as a M&A Consultant from consultancy/audit firms.
- Strong financial toolbox and optimally also experience from accounting advisory, integration or other business development and M&A activities.
- Experience working with SAP and the pharmaceutical industry would be a benefit but is not mandatory.
About the department
The M&A Finance team, is a small team within Corporate Accounting. The goal of the team is to be the center of excellence for driving financial due diligence, accounting for- and integrating of complex business acquisitions across Novo Nordisk.
Corporate Accounting is the global process owner for the Record to Report process within Novo Nordisk and is also responsible for external financial reporting, internal controls, ESG- and Financial Reporting, as well as Payroll for the Danish based Novo Nordisk employees. As a M&A Financial Advisor you will be reporting to the Manager of M&A Finance, Stefan Ranek Klarholt.
Corporate Accounting is headed up by Corporate Vice President Trine Haastrup and consists of approx. 45 engaged employees consisting of a great mix in age, gender and nationality.
