The position

As a GMP Material Scientist you have the responsibility for Excipients (including CMO materials) used in GMP production at Novo Nordisk.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Ensuring suitable material control strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders and be responsible for setting the internal material release specification based on the use in Novo Nordisk.
  • Working on transfer projects for Excipients from the clinical phase to the market, with the opportunity to contribute to the process and improve the current setup.
  • Handling urgent issues with high impact for all Novo Nordisk production sites.
  • Representing the team in technical and scientific discussions in projects across the organisation.

 

You will be in close contact and collaborate with various stakeholders such as CMC, QC, QA, inbound supply management (ISM), warehouse, various Novo Nordisk production sites, Novo Nordisk process group representatives and a range of external suppliers and contract manufacturers (CMOs).

 

In this position you will gain insights on the entire value chain from material implementation to release for use in production of Novo Nordisk products.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position:

  • Hold a master's degree in pharmacy, engineering, biology, chemistry, or related scientific fields.
  • Possess experience in areas such as GMP support, QA, QC, raw material handling, GMP project management, and process optimization within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills, actively utilizing them.
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English.

About the department
You will join our department Material Manufacturing Development – Raw Materials, in Product Supply, Sourcing Operations. We consist of ~50 employees organised in four teams – this position in the Excipient Team is situated currently in Bagsværd and is moving to Taastrup around December 2024. In the Organisation, we are responsible for development, implementation, and management of complex materials (raw materials, excipients, primary packaging materials etc.) from use in development to production, and we maintain documentation on existing materials.
